SWANS v CARLTON

A small crowd met to cheer on our team in the most dreadful weather. Raffle was won by Peter (Bear) Grills with 2nd prize going to Reita Hicks. Roger Boyden offered to be the host for the night and to whom our thanks go for taking on the role. Another encouraging game by Kurt Tippett and also a great wet weather performance from Luke Parker and Craig Bird. How thrilling to see 2 sets of brothers in the Jacks and Richards now wearing the red and the white.

SWANS v MELBOURNE

Congratulations to Josh Kennedy on achieving 100 games 87 of which have been with the Swans. It was a win but our inaccurate kicking prevented us from achieving a percentage booster. Sam Reid was most unfortunate to again injure himself at the start of play but Brandon Jack was a superb replacement with his 4 goals.

SWANS v GWS

Apart again from poor kicking it was an encouraging win and increased our percentage to now been the team with the highest percentage overall. Nick Malceski continues to shine and was the worthy winner of the Brett Kirk Medal. Both he and Jarrad McVeigh are having amazing seasons and let us hope it continues so that they both receive All Australian Honours at the season close.

The SOMS met at the hotel with Rona Cannon enthusiastically and superbly taking on the role of host for the game. The raffle was (once again!) won by the Grills family with Diane Smith taking home second. Peter Lechte was not there to claim the members draw so next game it will jackpot to $60.00.

A warm welcome to new members George and Dawn Brydon from Somerville.
