RACT Community Sponsorship guidelines

RACT is committed to supporting the Tasmanian community in which we live, work and raise our families.

As such, we are always looking for opportunities to support non-profit community groups and charities to assist with local, community-building projects.

Often operated by volunteers, these organisations and their projects make a real difference to the community – and the RACT is proud to help them.

General Criteria 1:

In assessing sponsorship applications, the RACT will ask the following questions:

  • What are the synergies between your proposal and the RACT?
  • How does the project enrich the lives of Tasmanians?
  • What unique community needs does it address?

General Criteria 2:

Eligible Tasmanian groups include but are not limited to:

  • Not-for-profit organisations
  • Registered charities
  • School associations or parent bodies
  • Community groups and services

General Criteria 3:

The following activities are ineligible for RACT sponsorships:

  • individual or group sponsorships such as for travel or sports-related activities
  • fundraising for establishment of a community group
  • operating expenses and overheads
  • major fundraising activities (appeals) – including conferences or membership drives
  • those designed for commercial purposes
  • party-political organisations or activities
  • those where theresponsibility lies with another organisation(eg. Government agencies)

RACT Community Sponsorships

The RACT receives a large number of community sponsorship requests and as such cannot accommodate all. The applications that best match the guidelines and provide the most value to the local and/or Tasmanian community will be given preference.

Any unsuccessful applicants are encouraged to reapply for future projects.

Please be aware that the RACT Community Fund remains the best opportunity for community groups, clubs and organisations to access support. Applications are accepted in March and October of each year and the guidelines and application forms can be found on the RACT website.
