PART 1 GENERAL

  17. Submit under provisions of Section 01 30 00.

  19. Preparation instructions and recommendations.
  20. Storage and handling requirements and recommendations.
  21. Installation methods.
  22. Shop Drawings: Provide diagrams, identifying components with location.
  23. Selection Samples: For each finish product specified, two complete sets of color chips representing manufacturer's full range of available colors and patterns.
  24. Verification Samples: For each finish product specified, two samples, minimum size 6 inches (150 mm) square, representing actual product, color, and patterns.
  25. QUALITY ASSURANCE
  26. Installer Qualifications: Installer shall have a minimum of two years experience in installing similar products.

1.6 DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING

  1. Store products in manufacturer's unopened packaging until ready for installation.
  2. Store and dispose of solvent-based materials, and materials used with solvent-based materials, in accordance with requirements of local authorities having jurisdiction.
  1. PROJECT CONDITIONS
  2. Maintain environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, and ventilation) within limits recommended by manufacturer for optimum results. Do not install products under environmental conditions outside manufacturer's absolute limits.

PART 2 PRODUCTS

2.1 MANUFACTURERS

2.2 FLUSH & FURNITURE-FEED FLOOR BOXES – 68-HP SERIES 6-INCH ROUND

  1. General: Boxes for multiple services shall deliver power and communications cable, from the same device, without interference from electric power delivery.
  2. Construction shall be as required by U.L. 514A (cast iron version) or U.L 514C (non-metallic version) and listed.
  3. Boxes shall accept conduit sizes as indicated or required. Provide bushings where required.
  4. When cover is closed and no services in place, device shall have no obstructions above surface of floor.
  5. Cover assembly shall protect against the ingress of water and foreign material with a gasket and shall meet UL scrubwater exclusion requirements.
  6. Device plates and mounting kits as scheduled or as required as manufactured by Thomas and Betts Corp.

PART 3 EXECUTION

3.1 EXAMINATION

  1. Do not begin installation until substrates and supporting structures have been properly prepared.
  2. If substrate preparation is the responsibility of another installer, notify Architect of unsatisfactory preparation before proceeding.
  1. INSTALLATION
  2. Install in accordance with manufacturer's instructions.
  3. QUALITY CONTROL - RACEWAY TESTING
  4. Verify layout of system to contract drawings.
  5. Raceway system shall be free of open gaps and exposed uneven cuts.
  6. All outlets, boxes, and enclosures shall be fastened securely to walls or permanent structures.
  7. Verify power wires and data cables are separated by a physical barrier. CAUTION: Power wires and data cables shall not be combined in any channel.
  8. PROTECTION
  9. Protect installed products until completion of project.
  10. Touch-up, repair or replace damaged products before Substantial Completion.
