PART 1 GENERAL

- SUBMITTALS
- Submit under provisions of Section 01 30 00.
- Product Data: Manufacturer's data sheets on each product to be used, including:
- Preparation instructions and recommendations.
- Storage and handling requirements and recommendations.
- Installation methods.
- Shop Drawings: Provide diagrams, identifying components with location.
- Selection Samples: For each finish product specified, two complete sets of color chips representing manufacturer's full range of available colors and patterns.
- Verification Samples: For each finish product specified, two samples, minimum size 6 inches (150 mm) square, representing actual product, color, and patterns.
- QUALITY ASSURANCE
- Installer Qualifications: Installer shall have a minimum of two years experience in installing similar products.
1.6 DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING
- Store products in manufacturer's unopened packaging until ready for installation.
- Store and dispose of solvent-based materials, and materials used with solvent-based materials, in accordance with requirements of local authorities having jurisdiction.
- PROJECT CONDITIONS
- Maintain environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, and ventilation) within limits recommended by manufacturer for optimum results. Do not install products under environmental conditions outside manufacturer's absolute limits.
PART 2 PRODUCTS
2.1 MANUFACTURERS

- Requests for substitutions will be considered in accordance with provisions of Section 01 60 00.
2.2 FLUSH & FURNITURE-FEED FLOOR BOXES – 68-HP SERIES 6-INCH ROUND
- General: Boxes for multiple services shall deliver power and communications cable, from the same device, without interference from electric power delivery.
- Construction shall be as required by U.L. 514A (cast iron version) or U.L 514C (non-metallic version) and listed.
- Boxes shall accept conduit sizes as indicated or required. Provide bushings where required.
- When cover is closed and no services in place, device shall have no obstructions above surface of floor.
- Cover assembly shall protect against the ingress of water and foreign material with a gasket and shall meet UL scrubwater exclusion requirements.
- Device plates and mounting kits as scheduled or as required as manufactured by Thomas and Betts Corp.

- Product: 68-HP Series as manufactured by Thomas and Betts Corp.

- 68-HP-CI: Cast Iron Box with Non-metallic Collar. 10-21/32” length, 5-11/32” width, 6-5/16” height,two pairs of inline threaded hubs: 1” & 1-1/2”, four height-adjustment screws.

- Box shall accommodate three standard devices with appropriate voltage dividers to for power, data, voice, and/or audio-visual devices.

PART 3 EXECUTION
3.1 EXAMINATION
- Do not begin installation until substrates and supporting structures have been properly prepared.
- If substrate preparation is the responsibility of another installer, notify Architect of unsatisfactory preparation before proceeding.
- INSTALLATION
- Install in accordance with manufacturer's instructions.
- QUALITY CONTROL - RACEWAY TESTING
- Verify layout of system to contract drawings.
- Raceway system shall be free of open gaps and exposed uneven cuts.
- All outlets, boxes, and enclosures shall be fastened securely to walls or permanent structures.
- Verify power wires and data cables are separated by a physical barrier. CAUTION: Power wires and data cables shall not be combined in any channel.
- PROTECTION
- Protect installed products until completion of project.
- Touch-up, repair or replace damaged products before Substantial Completion.
