March 21, 2011 - Whitney Residence

Present / Julie Angell, Scott Burnett, George & Michelle Green, Sonny & Janet Harris, Dave Krennick, Tom & Lil Moore, Art Whitney, and John & Barbara Wiltsey
Call to Order – President Scott Burnett /
  • John opened the meeting in prayer at 7:30.
  • Scott read from Matthew 3, Jesus being called into manhood.

Treasurer – Janet Harris / Current Treasurer Report –
Present balance: $4,080.17
Total inflows: $3,882.00
Total outflows: $-2,442.20
Net total: $--1,439.80
Balance last year at this time: $8,997.11
  • Scott put donation button on website.
  • Janet read Meltdown expense list. Should put larger expenses on charge card.
  • No jerseys should be sold to non-members. OK to sell other RUTS apparel to non-members if a member vouches for them.

Correspondence –
Annie Mills (not present) /
  • No new memberships.

Competition –
George Green /
  • 12 racers were at HBMC. No complaints about pit coverage.
  • Will make corrected pit sign-up sheet. Some race dates have changed.
  • Reminder for racers to put the RUTS name on racing applications.
  • Discussed whether or not guest pit help requires membership.

Website – Caprice Zierau (not present) /
  • Nothing to report at this time.

Supplies/Apparel – Danny Zierau (not present) /
  • Dave Beaumont will create artwork for Meltdown shirts.
  • Plan to sell them $10/each.
  • Include table at barbeque to sell t-shirts Saturday night.

District 37 – Julie Angell /
  • Insurance rates have increased for races.
  • See minutes from March general meeting for D37 report.

Ride Report /
  • There were 90 participants in the March Poker Run. Great ride and great fellowship! Over $1700 was raised for the Holt family.
  • Discussed other possible sites for New Years ride such as Ocotillo Wells, then use Fremont Peak as a site during warmer months.

Meltdown Report – John Wiltsey /
  • Charter/sanction is done.
  • $10/rider for insurance wil go back to D37.
  • Meltdown will be $45/1st race, $40/2nd race
  • Course map done
  • John will email Jerry Grabow regarding insurance
  • John will complete paperwork about staffing – the more areas covered, the better.
  • Neither course A or B cross Power Line Rd.
  • Plan for the same start on both courses.
  • Need someone for risk management. Brian Hall may do this if he is able to attend race
  • Julie will look for bike to purchase for under $1200
  • Sponsor artwork due 4/6. Julie must have flier out by 4/8.
  • Julie will call sponsors for other clubs to participate in Meltdown.

New Business
Upcoming Events /
  • April ride – 4/15-17 Ocotillo Wells – Trail boss: Dave Alabran
  • May ride – Memorial Day weekend – Meltdown work weekend Trail boss: John Wiltsey
  • Next general meeting Monday, April 2nd at Fuddruckers at 7pm.
  • Officers meeting – April 18th at the Burnett Residence.

Scott reminded officers of the 2011 goals:
  • Officers encouraged to use strengths in ministry: Pits, welcoming new and returning members.
  • Trail boss responsible for planning of trails and to create atmosphere of purposeful fellowship.
  • Our relationship grows with God as our relationships grow with one another.
  • Meeting closed in prayer and adjourned at 9:30.
