Race: Dart/Totnes Hasler

Location: River Dart between Totnes and Sharpham

Start and Finish:Public slip way, Steamer Quay, Totnes

Registration: DTARC Clubhouse, Steamer Quay, Totnes, TQ9 5AL

Timings:Registration between 1200 -1300hrs

Briefing at 1330hrs

Starts from 1400hrs

Classes: / Divs 1 - 9 K1
Divs 3 – 9 K2
Junior Lightning race if required
Boats: / Following the Marathon Committee’s decision that ‘ski entries are now allowed in divisional races from surf ski paddlers when paddling a recognised surf ski design, at race organiser’s discretion, both sea kayaks and surf skis are encouraged to attend this race and will be eligible for club points.
Rules: / The race will be run in accordance with the current MRC Rules.
Safety: /
  • All Div 7, 8 & 9 competitors must wear approved buoyancy aids and all paddlers under 16 years of age in higher divisions are strongly advised to do so.
  • Other competitors may be required to wear buoyancy aids depending on conditions on the day.
  • Please inform the race organiser at check in of any medical condition that may affect any paddler’s performance.

Risk: / Canoeing and Kayaking are ‘Assumed risk’- ‘Water contact sports’ that may carry attendant risks. Participants should be aware of and accept these risks, and be responsible for their own action and involvement.
Entries: / Please send consolidated club entries by HRM in advance to: by 9 Jul 15. Fees will be collected at registration; cheques are payable to ‘Exeter Canoe Club’. Cash preferred.
Fees: / Senior: £7 per seat, Junior: £5 per seat. An additional fee of £5 per paddler will be charged for an Event Ticket if a current BCU membership card is not produced by competitors in Divs 7, 8 & 9. Event Tickets will not be available to competitors in Divs 1 to 6.
BCU Membership: / Competitors must be current comprehensive members of the BCU, Canoe England, WCA, SCA, CANI or members of the Junior Section of a BCU Affiliated Club. Any competitor ranked in Divs 1 to 6 failing to submit evidence of current membership will not be permitted to race.
Prizes: / 1st, 2nd & 3rd Paddler/Crew in each singles and doubles Hasler division will receive prizes provided there is quorate entry in division.

  • Toilets available in DTARC clubhouse or in public conveniences in car park.
  • Pay and display car park at start.
