Race Against Time Math Functions Game

BREAKING NEWS!!!

The situation was very grim indeed in the town of Griffinville. The gangsters commonly known as “The Wildcats” were terrorizing the local middle school students each week. According to Officer Hagar, who is the current law enforcement officer at the middle school, the gang has been very active lately. Some of their recent crimes involve stealing lunches from hungry students, vandalizing school desks, breaking the school dress code, taking hard working students’ homework, and chewing gum! Officer Hagar has been so busy filling out citations for gang members that he has decided to create a local school neighborhood watch team in order to help him stop the annoying gangsters from wreaking havoc and committing these horrible crimes.

The new team consists of several determined and fearless students that attend the middle school each day. This remarkable crime stopping team is named “The Wolverines”. Each day “The Wolverines” stop the onslaught of attacks on the middle school and its students. Officer Hagar was heard recently stating…”I’ve never seen anything like it in my career as a professional law enforcement officer. These Wolverines are incredible! They have made enormous progress in stopping the activities of the notorious “Wildcats”. However, we still have a great deal of work to do in order to keep the peace at GMS.”

With the support of the Principal, the teachers, and other school staff, the Wolverines will not stop until every Wildcat gang member is put where they belong….in Mr. White’s ISS (In School Suspension), at least until they learn to change their wrong actions into right actions. This is the only way to save GMS from further Wildcat attacks and provide peace once again to the school hallways and classrooms.

Game Directions: One member of the “Wildcats” and one member of the “Wolverines” will come to the whiteboard at the same time and answer a math functions review question. Each student will have 1 minute to answer the question. The answer must be correct and written on the board for their group to win the point. Your teacher will randomly draw names in order to determine which group YOU will be racing against time for!
