Christians have again been called upon to live a fulfilling life and to receive Jesus in their lives as He is the way, the truth and the life. This charge was given by Rev. Fr. Fr. Agbonome.

At a commendation service organized to celebrate the life and times of Late Sir (Asso. Prof.) Arc. Chris Akagu of the Department of Architecture held at the University Auditorium.

The Clergy in his homily charged Christians and members of the university Community to live a righteous life worthy of emulation and a life that would be remembered positively even after death.

He enjoined members of the family to always put their trust in God and also prayed God to comfort them and give the Akagu’s family the fortitude to bear the loss.

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Joseph Ahaneku after the presentation of the flower wreath as a symbol of honour and respect to the colleague, charged members of the University Community to deeply think about themselves and how they would be remembered. Prof. Ahaneku described Late Akagu as a peace loving gentleman, hardworking and a man dedicated to duties and assignments. He stressed that the legacies of Late Akagu in the Department of Architecture and the role he played in stabilizing the Faculty of environmental Sciences will not be forgotten.

He encouraged members of the family especially the children to distinguish themselves and continue to live and live out the legacies of their father, both in the family and other sections where he worked.

The Vice-Chancellor assured members of the family that the University will continue to maintain the relationship shared between them and the institution.

Responding, a member of the deceased family expressed gratitude to the University for their show of love, words of inspiration and encouragement to the family.
