After You Log In:

In this program, there are three basic activities you need to know: Pretest, Tutorial, and Mastery Test.

Pretest

There is a Pre-test at the beginning of each unit. This Pre-test is optional. It could
take up to 1-2 hours to complete. If you choose to do the Pre-Test and answer
enough correct questions, you will earn an “e” for exemption. When you see
an “e,” it means you do not have to do that lesson because you already
know the material, based on what you got correct on the pretest.
Tutorial

The tutorial includes the lesson you will study and also some practice.
Activities include videos, animations, interactive activities, graphics, and sometimes audio (sound).
Your instructor/s can see all the work you’ve done in the Tutorial. Sometimes there is an Application after the Tutorial.
The Application will give you more practice in that area of study.

Mastery Test

The Mastery Test is 5 questions. Try to get 4 questions correct, or 80%. A gold star will appear in front of each test after mastery is achieved.

Mastery Test Lock
It is important to know that the Mastery Test will LOCK after you close it. If you do not pass the test the first time, you can only UNLOCK if you do the Tutorial again.

Important Tools to Know:

All My Work

The All My Work section has some helpful ways to check your progress. First, you can see all the activities that are
In Progress, Completed, and Not Started. Second, you can look at reports to see your progress. Click on Create Progress Report to see all of your work and activities and see which Mastery Tests you have completed. Click on Create Portfolio Report to see a short summary of all your work. Use these reports to check progress and also to make a plan for what you need to work on in the future.

Messages

You can write a message to your instructor through the message system. Click on the New Message button, then click on “To.” Your instructor name/s will show up. The instructors check messages every week.

Notes

You can take notes on what you learn in Plato. As you work through a tutorial, take notes in each course to help you remember new material.
