Quick, Easy, and Healthy Orange Recipes

Check out these healthy recipes that help incorporate oranges into your diet! They are simple and can all be made in 10 minutes or less—most are even dorm-room friendly!

Breakfast

Orange Creamsicle Smoothie

1 frozen banana (previously peeled and sliced)

½ cup orange juice

¾ cup vanilla greek yogurt

1 orange (peeled and sliced)

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

·  Blend all ingredients together and enjoy! Add in some orange zest for an extra orange kick

Orange Chia Seed Pudding

1 ½ cups light coconut milk

¼ cup + 2 tbsp. chia seeds

1 tbsp. honey or agave

½ tsp. vanilla extract

1 teaspoon orange zest

sliced oranges

flaked coconut

·  Stir coconut milk, chia seeds, honey, vanilla and orange zest together in a bowl or cup- cover and refrigerate overnight

·  Stir again in the morning and serve with orange slices and coconut flakes

Lunch/Dinner

Orange Zested Green Beans

1 lb trimmed green beans

1 teaspoon olive oil

½ teaspoon orange zest

¼ cup toasted almonds

Salt and pepper to taste

·  Boil and steam the green beans

·  Toss the steamed beans in olive oil, orange zest, almonds, salt and pepper and enjoy!

Oriental Salad

Spring mix salad greens

Mandarin oranges (drained)

Slivered Almonds

Wonton Strips

Water Chestnuts

Green onions

Sesame seeds

(basically any toppings you like to put on an Asian-style salad)

Salt and pepper to taste

·  Put mixed greens into a bowl and top with as many of the toppings as you’d like- enjoy!

Dessert

Orange Juice and Fruit Popsicles

Popsicle mold

Orange juice

Mixed fruit of choice- we like strawberries, kiwis, and pineapple!

·  Fill popsicle molds half full with diced fruit

·  Pour orange juice to the top

·  Freeze for 4-6 hours and enjoy!
