Happy New Year Everyone!! Can it really be 2018? Now that the Holidays are over, we can get back to focusing on the work of the Order once again. There is an Admission & Formation Degree scheduled for January 9th, and a Knighthood Degree scheduled for January 26th, so get those form 100’s out and let’s get some new members so that we can get off on the right foot! Let’s make a big push for Star Council, there is still time!! There are some great incentives for Councils to recruit new members. Councils who make Star Council will receive a $4.50 credit per billable member off their per Capita! That’s a lot of money that your council can put towards charitable giving. In addition to that, the Supreme Knight announced at the Mid-Year Meeting of State Deputies a lottery incentive for 10 couples to attend the World Meeting of Families in Dublin, Ireland with all expenses paid. Here is how it works: beginning December 1st, 2017, every time that you recruit a member into the Order through June 30th, 2018, your name will go into a drawing and on July 1st, 2018, ten names will be drawn at random. If you are a winner, we will notify you and your wife immediately so you can plan this once in a lifetime opportunity to interact with families from all over the world. When you return, you can become a beacon of light for other families in your council, community, and state. The more men that you recruit, the greater the probability you will have to win this trip. So please communicate this incentive to all of your council members so that they can have the chance to win this experience of a lifetime.

We have some important forms that are due this month including the Survey of Fraternal Activity (#1728). This is how the Order calculates out how many volunteer hours that the Councils put in throughout the year and how much money is donated by the individual Councils. I hope that you all returned the Individual Worksheets that you were asked to fill out and hand in so that your Council is credited with all of the Great Work that they do in the Name of Our Order! I look forward to the next six months of this Fraternal Year to see all of the progress your Council is making! Let’s make a big push for Star Council, there is still time!!

I will see you all soon at the next meeting.

Until then,

Vivat Jesus.

Michael Boehm,

District Deputy

Third New York District.
