Job Purpose: Sample preparations, XRF-based sediment geochemical analyses, stable isotope analytical support, archiving, initial data evaluation.
Key Accountabilities/Primary Responsibilities (6-10 bullet points maximum)
- Quantitative data analysis in relation to global climate records.
- Statistical evaluation of phase relationships.
- Potential process evaluation with GENIE.
- Overseeing outcome of Th(excess) analysis and elaborate chronological implications.
- Archiving (sample archiving and data archiving).
- Data compilation, interpretation and publication.

Special Requirements: Person must be prepared to, at times, work outside standard working hours as dictated by equipment availability. Person must be capable to keep a clear lab-book and well-organised spreadsheet copy. Person must be computer-literate and statistically capable.

Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience:
Skill level equivalent of PhD in Earth and/or ocean science.
Knowledge of palaeoceanography
Knowledge of Ocean and Climate Sciences
Practical experience in sample preparations.
Practical experience in chemical/isotope palaeoceanographic analysis
Competence in Excel, Grapher, Word, MATLAB, MATHEMATIKA or similar programs.
Competence in statistical analysis
