Joyce Rothenberg, Director Career Management Center

Joyce Rothenberg just joined the Career Management Center after 11 years as an independent marketing consultant. Her background includes more than 20 years of strategy, marketing and research experience including 10 years of senior management experience with Fortune 500 companies in service industries.

The Rothenberg Consulting Group was founded in 1995 to provide a high-quality outsourcing solution for corporate marketing departments and owners of small and midsize businesses. Over the past 11 years Rothenberg Consulting has worked with companies large and small on research projects to identify new markets, understand their brand identity and positioning, launch new businesses, and refine their marketing strategies. Joyce has worked with clients in a variety of industries including health care services, medical devices, business software, retail, consumer packaged goods, restaurants and travel.

Prior to launching The Rothenberg Consulting Group Joyce held senior level corporate marketing and strategic planning positions including:

  • A six-year tenure with the Marriott Corporation, where she led marketing and strategic planning efforts initially at a corporate-wide level and later in several business units. She was a key team member in the launch of Fairfield Inns and in Marriott’s innovative effort to bring nationally recognized restaurant and retail brands to the nation’s airports and toll roads.
  • A four-year tenure as Vice President of marketing for Luby’s Cafeterias Inc., where she designed and directed an integrated marketing effort that turned a 10-year customer-count decline into a positive trend resulting in annual increases of more than 3 million customers. This success won acclaim on Wall Street and earned Ms. Rothenberg the Marketing Person of the Year award from the American Marketing Association’s San Antonio chapter and recognition as a restaurant industry “Rising Star” by Restaurant Hospitality magazine.

Joyce holds an MBA from the Colgate Darden Graduate School of Business, University of Virginia, and a BA in foreign languages from Grove City College.

Joyce joined the CMC on January 8, 2007 and will soon be on our website as well. The bios for other key staff in our Career Management Center appear on our website at the link below. We service our full-time day students and provide career services to our alums who are between jobs.

Information Technology Support Staff

Jason Reusch

Jason Reusch serves as the Associate Director of the Information Technology Services group and the Owen Graduate School of Management at Vanderbilt University. Prior to joining Vanderbilt, he served as the VP of Technology for a small startup in Philadelphia named THEADOS Corporation where he orchestrated the completion of a 15,000 line of codeclient server software product and the deployment of an infrastructure to deliver the product. Mr. Reusch earned his BA in Economics 1999 and his MBA in 2005 both from Vanderbilt. During his time as an MBA student Mr. Reusch participated in research instrumental to the founding of the Center for Management Research in Healthcare and is a contributing author of a study published in the Journal of Clinical Oncology. Mr. Reusch is also an active participant in the Free and Open Source Software community and has presented his work on three occasions to the Nashville Linux Users Group.

Will Hare

Will Hare serves as a System Administrator for the Owen Graduate School of Management, Vanderbilt University. He has been with us since 2005 serving as the manager of the Owen Laptop Program. Prior to joining the Owen team he managed the network for Family and Children’s service and their 26 satellite offices throughout Tennessee. Will attended Middle Tennessee State University and served as desktop\server support for the Dean of Economic and Community Development at Clemson University from 1997 to 2002.

Heather Mitchell

Heather Mitchell has been a Computer Systems Analyst III at Owen since June 2005. Prior to Vanderbilt, she worked in the Office of Information Technology at Wofford College from 1999 to 2005. At Wofford she did Unix and Windows system administration, Oracle and Microsoft SQL database administration, and managed the Ericsson PBX system and the switchboard operators group. Heather has an MA from the University of Georgia and a BA from MacMurray College

Danny Sulkin

Dannyhas beenSystems Administrator at the Owen Graduate School of Management at Vanderbilt University since 2001. Danny joined the Owen school as Media Specialistin 1975 after receiving his BS in EngineeringScience from the Vanderbilt School of Engineering.He builtthe Media Services department at the Owen School which provided technical support for all Owen school (at that time, the Graduate School of Management) programs, including Executive Education and Executive MBA. He built the first "computer lab" for the school, consisting of four paper-tape "dumb" terminals with acoustic couplers. He helped design and coordinated the construction of the School's high-tech classroom make-overs. January 2001, after completing his MCSE certification, he was promoted to Systems Administrator. In this capacity, he continues to provide computer and technical support for Owen's programs, manage online Facebook, classroom technology, videoconferencing, distance collaboration programs, and the Help Line technical support for faculty and staff. He has over 30 years experience in educational technology.

Stephan Wininger

Stephan is a Computer Systems Analyst at the Owen Graduate School of Management at Vanderbilt University since 1997. Prior to joining Vanderbilt, Stephan served as Network Manger at the Babcock Graduate School of Management at Wake Forest University from 1992 to 1997 where he also assisted teaching in Executive Education programs. From 1987 to 1992 he joined Ernst & Whinney Washington, DC offices as Network Manger and in 1989 E&W merged with Arthur Young to form Ernst & Young, which doubled the Washington DC user and computer base that he was responsible for. From 1982 to 1987 Stephan served in the United States Navy aboard the USS Carl Vinson aircraft carrier as the Computer Center Supervisor the shipboard administrative computer systems and provided executive-level training for senior officers. He finished his naval career at Commander Operational Test and Evaluation Force in Norfolk, Virginia where he designed and implemented security systems and databases of highly sensitive information for the Chief of Naval Operations. Stephan has 25 years of computing experience in the military, private, and academic environments.

George Sibble

George has been a full time Systems Analyst at the Owen School of Management since June of 2006 and a part time IT employee since April of 2004. Before joining Owen, George worked as an IT intern in the IT department of the Vanderbilt Engineering School. From 1999 until 2002, George worked part time as an intern in the IT Department at his high school. In addition, George founded the largest paintball review resource on the web, PaintballGuru, LLC, which was sold in 2001. George is currently taking MBA classes at Owen and has a Computer Engineering degree from Vanderbilt University.

Barry Dombro

Barry is Director of Information Technology at the Owen Graduate School of Management at Vanderbilt University since 1997. Prior to joining Vanderbilt, Barry served as Director of Information Services at the Wake Forest MBA program from 1992 to 1997 where he also taught in the MBA program and Executive Education programs. From 1987 until 1992 he served as the Manager of Information Services for Octocom Systems Inc. a high tech company located in Boston where he implemented a MRPII system and developed and managed the computer network for hardware and software development. He is a graduate of the University of Vermont and received a MBA from Wake Forest University. He has 20 years experience managing information technology in the private sector and academic environments.
