2- أهدف المقرر Aims / - بنهاية تدريس المقرر يستطيع الطالب تحقيق الأهداف التالية:
To understand the essential topics of chest diseases including:
Ø Understand the aetiology, clinical pictures, diagnosis and treatment of respiratory tract infection
Ø Mention the details of pulmonary and extrapulmonary tuberculosisa and methods of diagnosis and treatment
Ø Understand clinical presentation and treatment of obstructive airway diseases.
Ø Describe the methods used to diagnosis lung cancer early and late.

أ(A)- المعلومات والمفاهيم
Knowledge and Understanding / بنهاية تدريس المقرر يجب ان يكون الطالب قادر علي ان:
By the end of the course, students should be able to:
A1- Define the type of respiratory infection either specific and non specific and how to treat it.
A2- Illustrate the steps management of Asthma and COPD according to recent guidelines.
A3- Point out the related pulmonary disorders regarding ARDS, Pulmonary vascular diseases.
A4- Describe the aspect of pleural diseases and how to deal with pleural effusion and pneumothorax.
A5- Mention types of lung cancers and predisposing factors and how to diagnose.
ب (B)- المهارات الذهنية
Intellectual Skills / بنهاية تدريس المقرر يجب ان يكون الطالب قادر علي ان:
By the end of the course, students should be able to:
B1- Interpret symptoms, signs, of different pulmonary disorders
B2- Plan general scheme to reach the correct diagnosis of pulmonary diseases.
B3- Correlate causes, mechanisms and effects of diseases based on knowledge of mechanism of different respiratory diseases.
B4- Interpret and point out the clinical significance of determination of cases presentation and commentary of different clinical pulmonary problems.

Practical and Professional Skills / بنهاية تدريس المقرر يجب ان يكون الطالب قادر علي ان:
By the end of the course, students should be able to:
C1- Perform tests which are important for detection of pulmonary tuberculosis.
C2- Identify tests which are important for determination of each respiratory infection.
C3- Known the scheme for diagnosis of different chest disorders.
C4- how to take good history and examination of the patients.
