QCC MATRIX – INTRODUCTION

I am sharing with you the result of QCC survey you completed. Just a few self-explanatory notes:

  • The first slide isabout you. Your role selection is the reference that has been used to benchmark your competencies against a New Zealand procurement competency framework we adopted as part of the QCC.
  • The second slide is asummary of your perceptionagainst the 24 procurement competencies that made part of the survey: you will see your score and the target score. The target score is the score that is an aggregation of where the procurement framework believes that specific competency should be, against your role level.
  • The third slide gives you the same information in a different way: it shows you where you might havea training needor where you have answered your level of knowledge and comfort sits in comparison to the benchmark.

This analysis is based on the selection of your current level so if you are currently a buyer, and you selected senior manager, it should not surprise you that the outcome shows a lot of training needs. Alternatively, if you have selected your current role, and it still shows a lot of training needs, I would argue it to be beneficial to have your belief benchmarked by a colleague or your manager. It might well be that, when you ask a peer, colleague or your manager to complete on your behalf, you will get a completely different view.

The objective of this QCC exercise isthree-fold:

  • For you to review how you assess yourself with regards to the full strategic procurement cycle and all the phases of procurementbeyond your current role.
  • To make you aware of your own self-perception in relation to the performance in the phases.
  • To provide you with an aggregated benchmark of how others perceive themselves to be, at the level, you have chosen.

All data is relative and meansnothing outside of contextso Ihope the snapshot view will provide you some guidancefor future improvement. Either way,base-liningand understanding where you see yourself, is always the best way to develop yourself.

So,well done, you have been brave enough to weather the 156 questions. If you have any further questions for me directly relating to the QCC, do send me an emailand I will be happy to further discuss.

Kind regards,

Ingrid De Doncker
