Q: Which Immunizations/Vaccines are covered for Children?

A: Here’s a list of some of the covered routine immunizations for children.Many of these vaccines are administered at the child’s well visit. Access the following website: to review the CDC’s Immunization Schedules by age.

CHILD IMMUNIZATIONS
  • Annual Flu Vaccine:
Administered at no cost to you at a:
-Participating Pediatrician’s/Primary Care Physician’s Office
-Convenient Care Center (CCC), i.e., ParticipatingTake Care Health Clinics located inside the Walgreen’s Pharmacy. Please contact me for a list in your area.
  • Diphtheria, Tetanus, & Acellular Pertussis (DTAP)
  • Hepatitis A & B
  • Hib (Haemophilius Influenza Type B)
  • Human Papilloma Virus (HPV)
  • Inactivated Poliovirus
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR)
  • Meningococcal
  • Pneumococcal
  • Rotavirus
  • Tetanus, Diphtheria & Acellular Pertussis (TDAP)
  • Varicella (Chickenpox)
Administered at no cost to you at a:

Please be aware that immunizations administered at a Pharmacy are NOT COVERED under your medical plan.

Hepatitis A /
  • Ages 19+: if risk factors are present

Hepatitis B /
  • Ages 19+: if risk factors are present. (Available at CareHere Health & Wellness Center)

Hepatitis C (HCV) Infection Screening /
  • Physician recommendation based on past immunization or medical history

Human Papillomavirus (HPV) /
  • Physician recommendation based on past immunization or medical history

Meningococcal /
  • Age 19+: if risk factors are present.

Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) /
  • Physician recommendation based on past immunization or medical history

Pneumococcal Vaccine(PCV13 & PPSV23) /
  • Ages 19-64: if risk factors are present. Ages 65 +: One dose Per CDC. (Available at CareHere Health & Wellness Center)

Shingles (Zoster)
Vaccine /
  • Age 60 or older. (Available at CareHere Health & Wellness Center)
  • If your doctor does not supply the vaccine he/she can order from CVS Caremark Specialty Pharmacy. Please call1-866-278-5108.

Tetanus, Diptheria and Pertussis (Td/Tdap) /
  • Age 19 or older. Booster every 10 years. (Available at CareHere Health & Wellness Center)

Varicella (Chickenpox) /
  • Physician recommendation based on past immunization or medical history.
