Q. What exactly is the Apollo Shores Homeowners’ Association?
A. The Apollo Shores Homeowners’ Association is composed of all Apollo Shores property owners (currently about 200), and generally supports the overallwelfare of the subdivision and its property owners. The Board of Directors is responsible for the enforcement of covenants and restrictions, the collection of dues, and for decisions made in the collective interest of the property owners.
Q. What should I know before buying or building on a lot in Apollo Shores?
A. Apollo Shores is a restricted development. Review the “Restrictions and Covenants” document in the website Administration tab. This document covers several restrictions, such as-- Construction is not permitted below TVA’s 750 elevation line, and Rhea County Health Department should be consulted for a septic review of the subject property. Check out the Area Resources tab for links to these and several other helpful sites and phone numbers.
Q. How do I find Information regarding building a dock, installing shoreline protection, re-doing a seawall, getting a burning permit, etc.?
A. The Area Resources tab has links to TVA’s Watershed team where you can find information regarding shoreline construction; the Forestry Service number to call for a burn permit, along with lots more important numbers and websites.
Q. Does the Homeowners’ Association conduct any activities for the property owners?
A. Yes. In addition to ad hoc events, the Homeowners’ Association conducts spring and fall “work days”, a two day spring yard sale, and an annual meeting/picnic which takes place in the fall, all of which are open to the general membership. Dates are posted on the website’s Events Calendar.
Q. I have heard there are community parks within the subdivision. Where are they?
A. The largest park is on Caron Drive, and includes a boat ramp, pier, picnic pavilion and swing sets. A smaller park is located on Lakeshore Drive that has a picnic table, boat dock and a nice area for swimming. All are open and available for property owners and their guests. Q. What are my annual dues as an Apollo Shores property owner?
A. Annual dues for Apollo Shores property owners are generally based upon the “Unit” in which the property is located, and are described under Article V of the Apollo Shores Bylaws, which can be downloaded under the Administration tab of this website. Q. How do I know what “Unit” my lot is in?
A. There are four “units” in Apollo Shores Subdivision. Unit 1 is comprised of Lots 1-102; Unit 2 has Lots 103-484, Unit 3 Lots 485-746, and Unit 4 Lots 747-816.
Q. Is there a directory of Apollo Shores Homeowners’?
A. Yes. The directory, which includes address, lot number, and property owner information, etc. for all Apollo Shores properties, is available to Apollo Shores property owners only by contacting Sharon Sting at 423-365-0492 or .
Q. How can I find out about boating, fishing, restaurants, and entertainment on Watts Bar Lake?
A. Under the Area Resources tab of this website, you can download a copy of the “Apollo Shores Guide to Watts Bar Lake”, which contains most of that information.
Q. Where do I go for medical services, grocery stores, shopping malls, etc.?
A. Spring City is just 9 miles away with a grocery store, Ace Hardware, and a few medical offices. More medical services and hospitals are located in Dayton (Rhea Medical Center-- 23 miles) and Harriman (Roane Medical Center--26 miles). The closest Wal-Mart is in Rockwood (16 miles). Shopping malls, movie theaters, etc. are 50-60 miles away in either Chattanooga or Knoxville.
Q. Can you tell me when TVA raises/lowers the water level on Watts Bar Lake?
A. TVA generally begins raising the water toward summer pool (740.7 feet) in April each year, and begins lowering it to winter pool (about 737 feet) in November.
