In these roles I continue with a similar profile of European and international research, development and consultancy activity. In this capacity I am working with several international organisations, namely the European Commission (including Cedefop and ETF), UNESCO, UNICEF, ILO and the World Bank/IADB.
My current projects include
·  ETF: Completion of handbook on engagement of stakeholders in NQF and QA developments in the Mediterranean Region. This completes a 3-year engagement in the ETF NQF project as European expert in the region, particular reference to Egypt and Jordan. In addition, author of ETF thematic review (now published) on improving the recognition of qualifications in the region. Co-author of policy position papers, policy peer reviews, concept papers, conference briefings, and engaged thoroughly in every aspect of this developmental project
·  UNESCO: Policy review of TEVET in Malawi (nearing completion)
·  UNICEF: Support on curriculum reform in Maldives, including TVET, Phase 1 and 2
·  Cedefop: Partner in the ‘Changing roles of Qualifications’ research (nearing completion)
·  Cedefop: partner in the major ‘Identifying Skills Needs’ project. My role – development of scenarios for policy communities, to support improved provision of education and training
·  IADB: support for TVET development in Chile
·  EU/Leonardo: Quality assurance of the EU construction/bricklayers project, seeking to develop common element under the EQF
In addition I am an invited member of several advisory groups, including the French Government’s Institut National de Recherche Pedagogique Conseil Scientifique, and the UK UNESCO VET advisory group. I am a senior consultant to the British Council, and remain the UK coordinator for the EU/Cedefop’s ReferNet – the VET knowledge system and network across Europe. I attend a few seminars, etc – for example, ILO’s invited seminar on its recent NQF impact reviews (May 2010) and as a speaker at the recent BC Going Global conference, on the significance of VET developments in Europe for other countries (March 2010).
