PVCHS Prom Dress Code

The following rules apply to both PV students and their guests.

Why do we have a dress code? We are not trying to inhibit your style. Prom should be fun, but we want everyone to be comfortable and safe.

1.  Dresses may not be cut below the bust line.

2.  Dresses may be backless, as long as they are not cut below the naval.

3.  You cannot expose your midriff. This includes both the front and sides.

4.  Dresses may not have cut-outs. Mesh or sheer fabric covered cut-outs are not allowed.

5.  Dresses cannot be shorter than mid-thigh or have a slit that exceeds mid-thigh. (This is fingertip length.)

6.  Dresses may not have open sides.

7.  Male students must be dressed appropriately in formal wear. Jackets may be removed at the dance, but shirts and ties must be worn at all times.

8.  No canes.

9.  No hats.

Anyone who violates the dress code will not be allowed to enter the prom and will NOT receive a REFUND.

While we will be reasonable in our interpretation of these guidelines, we want you to know that you will not be allowed into the dance if you are dressed inappropriately. Most importantly, this dress code does not limit your ability to show your style and uniqueness. There are many beautiful and stylish dresses that DO meet the dress code.
