Pursuant to sections 2.5 and 2.6 of the RFP for an integrated library system for the Iowa Department for the Blind, with this document the Department provides the questions asked by prospective offerors and the Department’s answers to those questions.

Question one: PIMMS Interface. The RFP mentions interfacing or sharing data with PIMMS in several places (4.1 Overview; 4.3.1 Basic Requirements; 4.7.4). Can you clarify whether the selected vendor is expected to provide circulation data in a file that the library can then consume with the PIMMS APIs/Web Services, and if that is the case can you define the format you expect the data to be in? Or is the expectation that the selected vendor will perform the integration necessary using the PIMMS APIs/Web Services to upload circ data from the vendor’s system to PIMMS?

Answer: We want the selected vendor to perform the integration necessary using the PIMMS APIs/Web Services to upload circulation data from the vendor’s system to PIMMS.

Question two: Local vs SaaS. (Pg 20) The RFP states “4.3 ILS requirements \ 4.3.1 Basic Requirements. The ILS must include all of the following:

.1 Hardware

.2 Software (both operating and application)

.3 Hardware and software installation”

Can you confirm that the library is interested in a locally hosted solution running on a server provided by the selected ILS vendor and does not want pricing for a vendor-hosted (SaaS) solution?

Answer: We are interested in a locally hosted solution. Please provide the server specifications and the price for the server if purchased by the vendor.

Question three: Cost Proposal Form. The RFP indicates (pg 18) “a Cost Proposal Form is attached to this RFP as Attachment # 6” and (pg 32) “Attachment # 6 is the cost form that Vendors must use when submitting its Cost Proposal.” No Attachment 6 was found.

Answer: Reference attachment 6 created as addendum number one to the RFP.
