Bone Test

Purpose: To use your own skeleton to identify the main bones of the human skeleton.

TOTAL = ______/43

Procedures:

1. Obtain a deck of Bone Cards. Then one person will quiz the other. The person running the quiz will need to hold the deck of bone cards and they will need to have access to both their axial notes, appendicular notes and use pp. 105, 106, 108,109,112,115, and 117. They will also need the other person’s handout to mark the bone test.

2. The person running the test will pick up a card read it and hand it to the person being tested. The person being tested will stand or sit in the anatomical position (check p. 4 if you cannot remember this position) they must take that card and place that card precisely on the part of the body where that bone is found.

* With the bones of the lower arm and lower leg, they must specify whether each bone is lateral or medial; if they do not correctly state the precise location they must be given an “X”

3. The person running the test will respond as to whether that is the correct position or not. The person running the test will also place an “X” beside the name of the bone on the handout that belongs to the person being tested.

4. After going through the whole stack of cards, add up all the X’s and give the person a mark/score out of ______/41. Two more questions will be asked later.

5. Then shuffle the deck of cards and repeat the procedures above.
