Xmas Lunch

Xmas lunch will be on Wednesday 7 December 2016

ECO Committee Meeting – Today, Tuesday at 1pm in the Conference room next to the staff room to discuss the success of switch off fornight and the litter problem and to discuss ideas.

YPOD Come along to YPOD at lunchtime this Wednesday. Smoothie bike will be in, come along for a free smoothie.

Debating Club*Drum roll please*… The Debate Club have chosen their new debate topic – ‘Star Wars vs Star Trek’! Please come along to room B31 on Monday lunchtimes from 1.05pm to see whether Han Solo would beat Jean-Luc Picard... Is Yoda cooler than Worf? Who knows… Urquhart Dyce may even be an alien! (Mrs S O’Reilly)

Christmas Concert - Tickets for the Christmas Concert are now on sale! Cost of £5/£3 concession available from the music department. Please make cheques payable to Elgin Academy.

Interhouse basketball sign up is now open at the PE department. Anyone wishing to participate MUST sign up before the competition. All age group competitions will be in the last week of term.

S1/S2 Cookery Club Cookery Club will run on Thursday from 3.20pm -4.20pm. Make sure you sign up in the HE department to secure your place. It costs £1.00 and you will need a tub.

Novelties Book Club will meet tomorrow, during lunchtime, in the library.

Guest Speakers - On Thursday 1st December, we are very lucky to have 4 guest speakers who will talk about their experience with languages, either at work or in their own personal lives or both. You will go to registration as per normal but at 8.55, please go directly to the following rooms (as your teacher will have told you and reminded on SMH) and do not go to your period 1 room:

3L1 Fr and 3L4 Ger Group A with Mr Lestienne in the Staffroom

3L2 Fr and 3K 2 Fr Group B with Mrs Reynolds in the Assembly Hall

3K1 Fr and 3L3 Fr Group C with Mrs Stewart in the Library

3K3 Ger and 3k4 Ger Group D with Mrs Main in the Community room (opposite the canteen’s kitchen where you get your jabs)

You will stay in the same room for period 2 too.

Robertson/Design and Technology Partnership – Tuesday 29th November and Thursday 1 December 2016 - The following classes will be attending the launch of the Robertson/Design and Technology Partnership at the following times. Students should register with their class teacher and then make their way to the venue indicated.

S4 Reports: S4 reports issued today via registration.

S4-6 Biology Study Support

Biology study support is available every Tuesday after school from 3.25-4.25 for all Biology courses. Come along to the Biology department to get help with class work, access resources and work on problem solving skills. You will also be able to work on revision techniques and practice SQA past papers.

Senior Christmas Masquerade Ball – Wednesday 14 December 7.30 – 10pm

S5/6 Christmas dance tickets will be on sale form Monday 28th November, priced £5. The S6 social committee will be coming around registration classes so please have your money at the ready. The deadline for purchasing tickets is Friday 9th December. Tickets will also be available I Mrs Mays room (B53) on Thursday lunchtimes.
