- PROTECTION PLATE CLEANING
To preserve a correct linear unit working, we suggest you to clean monthly the protection plate. Please use a degreaser containing ammonia.
- BALL SLIDES LUBRICATION
Ball slides lubrication must be done each 2 months or 2000 km. Remove the lubrication cap. Move the carriage until you will be able to see, through the lubrication hole, the ad hoc greasing nipple situated on the ball slide( see figure n.1). To grease, use SKF LGMT 3 or similar.
Fig. 1 fig. 2
In the event that the ball slides include the automatic auto-lubrication equipment (E2) ,the greasing duration will be 5000 km.
The auto-lubrication equipment can be added or removed from the carriage even if the guide is already assembled.
The standard oil contained on the cartridge is MOBIL SHC 636.
This oil has viscosity categorisation ISO VG 680.
To replace the cartridge, it’s necessary to remove the screws on both plate blockers. (see figure below)
.
Now lift up the protection plate to see the cartridgesunder the carriage.
To remove the cartridge, pull it in the direction of the linear guide movement..(See figure below).
- TOOTHED BELT REPLACEMENT
After removing the belt blockers, join the old belt extremity with the new one extremity using the sticky tape ( see fig 1). Now pull the old belt on the opposite side respect where you joined the new one. Make a full turn in a way that the new belt will replace the old one ( see fig. 2). In the event that the belt will not pass through, please contact the Automationware.
fig 1 fig 2
After stretching the belt, extend the protection plate along the linear unit. Block the protection plate only in a side using the plate blockers. Centre the plate considering the profile length. Reassemble the higher carriage. Now block the protection plate on the opposite side using the plate blocker.
Tooth belt tensioning
If you have a belt tension meter use the following formula to calculate relationship between belt tension and frequency.
f=1/(2L) · √(Ts/m)
Index:
Ts = Static belt tension in N (10% of the Max.Traction Load)
m = linear belt mass (kg/m)
L = belt span length (m)
f= Belt span vibration frequency (Hz)
If you don’t have a belt tension meter, stretch the belt using the tension screws until the belt will appear sufficiently rigid and in a uniform distance from the guide along all the linear unit. While you stretch the belt, in order to centre it, move few times the carriage
- PROTECTION PLATE REPLACEMENT
To replace the protection plate use the same method used to replace the toothed belt:
- Remove the higher carriage;
- Remove the two plate blockers situated on the end caps;
- Replace the protection plate extending it on the linear unit length;
- Work backward to reassemble the linear unit.
- BALL SLIDES REPLACEMENT
Once you removed the old ball slides, insert the new one using the ad hoc plastic guide tied to the ball slides equipment.
Subsequently work backwards to reassemble the end cap and the carriage.
When you have reassembled the ball slides, the end cap and the carriage, please follows our instructions how to stretch the toothed belt
NOTE : model ML120 ProC-22 = 2 ball slides ; model ML 120 ProC-24 = 4 ball slides
WARNING: don’t loosen the screw of the guiding system as you can compromise the correct linear unit work.
- PLANETARY GEARBOX INSTALLATION / MOTOR MOUNTING
SCREW TIGHTENING TORQUE TABLE
Self Centring 6.35x16 = 1.2 Nm
Self Centring 8x18 = 1.2 Nm
Self Centring 9/10x20 = 1.2 Nm
Self Centring 12x22 = 1.2 Nm
LINEAR UNIT ESSENTIAL SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
General rules for the installation and maintenance products:
- All inspections and maintenance works (cleaning, greasing or other) must be done when the linear unit is not in motion and power disconnected;
- If the linear unit is used on vertical position, the stationary position will be done directly by the motor during its working process or by the motor brake in case the linear unit is power disconnected.
- In case of in-line motor solution the motor shaft is fixed to the driving pulley through the
self- centring.
- In case of parallel motor solution the motor shaft is connected to the driving pulley through a belt transmission system.
The belt is sized with a safety coefficient of 2 compared to the maximum load that can be supported
Belt pulleys are fixed to the driving pulley and to the motor with a self-centrings or/and taper bushes
- During the working process, the carriage movement could cause damage to the operator that might be in the working process area.
Please kindly provide any possible safetydevice ( optical or mechanical barriers ) to prevent damage to the operator .
