Experienced consultant to join Ramboll Management Consulting’s European Policy and Economics team in Brussels
Do you want to work with policy evaluation and research in an international environment with challenging and very dynamic projects on current European issues?
The European Policy department at Ramboll Management Consulting supports evidence-based policy making by providing evaluation and research services for the European Commission, the European Parliament and many European agencies. We carry out evaluations, economic analysis, impact assessments and studies in a wide range of policy areas such as home affairs and migration, education and culture, employment and social affairs, regional development, energy and transport, internal market and industry. In doing so, we seek to contribute to sustainable societies by balancing the economic, social, environmental and climatic effects of our projects, thereby meeting the needs of the current generation without jeopardizing the ability of future generations to satisfy their needs.
We are currently looking for an experienced consultant to join our Brussels office.
The job
You need to be able to work in several of the fields in which we carry out assignments; however, the ideal candidate has both strong evaluation skills and sector expertise in at least one of the following overarching areas in which our team operates and has framework contracts:
  • Public policy: employment and social affairs, education and culture, migration and home affairs.
  • Business policy: internal market, industrial policy and entrepreneurship, taxation.
  • Sustainable policy: environment, energy, transport, climate change.
You will find yourself engaging with several different projects at a time, interacting with teams composed of employees with diverse professional backgrounds and nationalities and carrying out policy analysis and strategic process facilitation. As a project manager for large scale EU projects, you will be responsible for client relations, the design and direction of the project, and the final product.
Your responsibilities will cover the whole project cycle, from developing a winning proposal, to acquisition to project completion. Together with other team members, you will be responsible for delivering high quality products and services, from the management of bids and projects, through planning and data collection, to the final analysis of results and the preparation, as well as, presentation of reports. Sometimes the data collection will take place in other EU countries, thus availability and flexibility to travel is essential.
Your profile
You will need:
  • A Master’s degree in political science, law, economics, business or similar field.
  • At least 5 years of relevant professional working experience in consulting, conducting research, evaluation, feasibility studies and impact assessments. Experience in successfully delivering research and evaluation/impact assessment projects and contracts for the European Commission, governments and agencies.
  • Ability to and experience in taking a lead role in the development of winning proposals.
  • High degree of motivation to take on responsibility and create results through personal effort and strong teamwork. Excellent ability to build and maintain relationships with both key clients and partners as well as internally with colleagues across the Ramboll Group.
  • An exceptional analytical capacity which you are able to take advantage of through your strong writing, communication and presentation skills. We expect you to be fluent in spoken and written English and command fluentlyone ortwo other EU languages.
  • Excellent project management skills, including ability to attend to detail as well as maintain an overview, and to take into account quality, time and budget constraints while focussing on the client’s needs. Ability to work on multiple projects to tight deadlines in a fast-moving professional environment.
  • Practical experience working on evaluation assignments and impact assessments for the European institutions, most notably the European Commission.
  • Interest and proven sectorial expertise in one of the areas where we operate and have framework contracts, as detailed above.
