PUBLIC NOTICE – TOWN OF COLDEN
2016 COUNTY AND TOWN TAX COLLECTION
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the undersigned Collector of Taxes for the Town of Colden has received the Tax Roll and Warrant for the collection of the County’s taxes for the year 2016.
Taxes for said Town will be received by the Collector from February 15, 2016 through March 15, 2016,
at the Colden Town Hall, 8812 State Road, Colden, New York, 14033.
PLEASE NOTE SPECIAL HOURS FOR THE PAYMENT OF TAXES
Monday - Friday – 8:30am to 4pm
Saturday – March 12, 2016 – 9 am to noon
Tuesday – March 15, 2016 – 8:30am to 6pm
Last day to pay without penalty is Tuesday, March 15, 2016
Penalties will be added as follows:
Beginning March 16th, penalties will be added as follows: If taxes are paid on or after March 16th through May 2nd inclusive, 7.5% will be added to the levy, forming the base tax then due. Thereafter, interest is added to the base at the rate of 1.5% per month on the 1st of each month making 18.78% in all, when unpaid taxes are sold in November. Taxes will be collected in the Town of Colden until June 30, 2016. Unpaid taxes will be returned to Erie County as of July 1, 2016.
A $2.00 service charge will be added to the original tax bill for any delinquent notices sent.
There will be a $15.00 charge for all checks that are returned for insufficient funds. Please note that a partial payment procedure has now been instituted in Erie County. An explanation of this procedure is printed on the reverse side of your tax bill. For more information, please call the Clerk’s office at 941-5012.
