Public Health 101: Healthy People-Healthy Populations, 2ndEdition
The Second Edition of Public Health 101: Healthy People- Healthy Populations retains the same basic format and organization as the first edition, including use of introductory vignettes, a question/answer format, boxes for more information and for in-depth examples, and case study exercises as the end of each section.
The Second Editionwill add approximately 100 pages including new boxes, tables, and case studies in each section. Two new chapters will expand section 5 on Public Health Institutions and Systems including a chapter on Food and Drugs as Public Health Issues and Systems Thinking and the Future of Population Health. The entire text has been updated and 10 engaging case studies have been added.
The following briefly describes the additions and changes that have been made to each section and chapter.
Section I Principles of Population Health
Chapter 1
- Addition ofdemographic, epidemiologic, and nutritional transitions moved from chapter 13 of the 1st edition
Chapter 2
- Addition of Evaluation to the PERI framework to make the framework PERIE and integrate the RE-AIM evaluation approach
