Prudential Spirit of Community Awards

The program honors middle school and high school student’s for outstanding service to others at the local, state and national level. Must be in grades 5 to 12, be a legal resident of the U.S., have engaged in a volunteer activity that occurred during the 12 months prior to the date of the application. Must apply on line. Stokes Educational Scholarship Program

Students receive up to $30,000 a year in tuition. Must be a US citizen, high school senior, eligible to be granted security clearance, minimum 1600 SAT score or ACT 25, plan to major in computer science or computer/electrical engineering and 3.0 or higher gpa. Elks National Foundation Most Valuable Student Scholarships

Most valuable scholars are outstanding students who are at or near the top of their class, active in their schools and communities, and recognized as leaders by their peers. Must be a senior and a US citizen to apply. Application deadline November 27, 2017. Apply on line.

Applicants must be thirteen (13) years of age or older at the time of application, be legal residents of the fifty (50) United States or the District of Columbia, be currently enrolled (or enroll no later than the fall of 2021) in an accredited post-secondary institution of higher education. Submit an online short written response (250 words or less) for the question: "Why does education matter to you? What is the value you hope to receive from college? Top Ten List Scholarship

Applicants must be thirteen (13) years of age or older at the time of application, be legal residents of the fifty (50) United States or the District of Columbia, be currently enrolled (or enroll no later than the fall of 2021) in an accredited post-secondary institution of higher education. Submit an online short written response (250 words or less) for the question: "Create a Top Ten List of the top ten reasons you should get this scholarship." Application deadline December 31, 2017. Scholarship amount $1,500. Must apply online.

GE-Reagan Foundation Scholarship

To be eligible applicants must demonstrate at school, at the work place, and within the community the attributes of leadership, drive, integrity and citizenship, must have a 3.0 or higher gpa, be citizens of the USA, be a high school senior, enroll full time in a four year college or university and demonstrate financial need. Winners receive a $10,000 scholarship renewable for up to an additional three years. Application deadline January 4, 2018. Students must apply on line.

Dell Scholars Program

To be eligible to apply for the Dell Scholars Program scholarship, you must meet the below listed criteria: Participating in a Michael & Susan Dell Foundation approved college readiness program in grades 11 and 12, graduating from an accredited high school this academic year, earning a minimum of a 2.4 GPA, demonstrated need for financial assistance, Eligible to receive federal student aid and Planning to enroll full-time in a bachelor’s degree program at an accredited higher education institution in the fall directly after your graduation from high school. Scholarship amount $20,000, Application deadline January 15, 2018.

Martin Luther King Jr Memorial Scholarship

In order to be eligible, the applicant must be: Pursuing a degree, credential or certification for a teaching-related career in public education in an accredited institution of higher education, A member of one of the following defined ethnic minority groups:(African American/Black, American Indian/Alaska Native, Asian/Pacific Islander or Hispanic) and enrolled for summer or fall of 2016. Applicant must also be: An active member of CTA, or A dependent child of an active, CTA/NEA-Retired, or deceased CTA member (per IRS ruling) An active member of Student CTA (SCTA). In order to receive the scholarship, the active SCTA member must reside in California and maintain membership at the time of disbursement.

TheDream.US

This scholarship is available to high school seniors. Students must graduate from high school, have a 2.5 un-weighted gpa, must be a full time student in a associate or bachelors program in one of TheDream.US partner colleges, be eligible for in state tuition, came to the US before reaching you’re 16th birthday, be DACA or TPS eligible and have applied for or received DACA or TPS approval and demonstrate significant unmet financial need. The BigSun Organization is proud to be able to continue to help young athletes succeed in their academic pursuits. We are offering an annual scholarship to a deserving student.
