Instructor: NadyneCastoro,PsyD.,School Psychologist

Teachers, teaching assistants, guidance counselors, psychologists, aides, social workers and speech therapists would benefit from learning additional strategies on how to work with emotionally distraught, violent and/or disruptive students.

The non-violent crisis intervention training is designed to teach best practices for managing difficult situations and disruptive behaviors. Participants will learn how to identify at-risk students and use nonverbal and verbal techniques to defuse hostile or belligerent behaviors. You will also learn how to control your fear and anxiety in a crisis situation or avoid injury when a crisis situation becomes physical.

Participants will be taught how to respond to a variety of situations that you could be exposed to within your classroom or office. Once the class is completed, you will receive documentation of your training.
