Side Report – National Manager Altogether Autism
Parameters of Role: / Part Time (17 hours a week) paid position
Main Location – 420 Anglesea Street, Hamilton
Time – Flexible between 7.00am and 6pm Monday to Friday
Required to attend national office staff training and to undertake training to further their own professional development as agreed in her/his Performance Appraisal
Staff Reporting to Position: / NIL
Primary Objective of Position: /
  • Provide input into the services of Altogether Autism in order to maintain and develop the provision of high quality evidence based information services
  • Assist in representing Altogether Autism in public forums and support the National Manager Altogether Autism and the Support and Information team in relationship building with key external and internal stakeholders.

Key Outcomes of Position: /
  • That services provided are within the framework of the Parent to Parent New Zealand and Life Unlimited Missions and Values and supports the outcomes of the Altogether Autism Strategic Plan
  • Parents who have children and family members with special needs are well supported and provided with meaningful and relevant information
  • Evidence based, relevant, individualised responses to complex information requests are provided
  • PEG/CRG requests are completed within 5 -10 working days

Specific Tasks and Duties: /
  • Complete complex information requests and obtain feedback from Professional Expert Group (PEG)/ Consumer Reference Group (CRG) as required
  • Contribute effectively to the best possible profile and perception of Altogether Autism, Parent to Parent and Life Unlimited internally and externally
  • Develop training materials for presentation at internal training, regional meetings, conferences and seminars
  • Develop and deliver training materials for courses for professionals and support workers in the field of Autism
  • Represent Altogether Autism on the Virtual NASC network as required
  • Attend and participate in meetings of the Consumer Reference Group
