The AIDG has been working with the Guatemalan rural development agency CEDEPEM to test its windmills in the highlands near Quetzaltenango, Guatemala. The AIDG aims to partner with CEDEPEM and other development organizations in the region to find continued sites to field test its designs and provide training installations for communities and development organizations.

OUR TECHNOLOGIES

The AIDG has working designs for the following technologies:

Technology / Solution / Benefits
Windmills,
Small-scale Hydroelectric / Energy / Low cost, clean & reliable source of energy
Biodigester / Sanitation, Agriculture, Energy / Effective way to dispose of animal waste and decrease disease risk, source of fertilizer and biogas.
High Efficiency Stoves / Energy, Cooking / Require less fuel, decrease indoor air pollution and decrease associated respiratory tract problems
Water Pumps, Water Purification Systems, Solar Water Heaters / Clean Water / Lack of access to clean water is a major cause child mortality in developing countries

OUR WORK

AIDG team members have recently returned from Guatemala where they installed demonstrations of their plug flow biodigesters and electricity producing windmills.

CASA GUATEMALA

The AIDG is working with Casa Guatemala, a home for orphaned, abandoned, or abused children, to install several biodigester projects. In its efforts towards self-sufficiency, Casa Guatemala engages in animal husbandry, organic and hydroponic farming. As their farming activities have expanded so has their need for a low cost pollution remediation solution. The AIDG recently installed a plug flow biodigester at a 30-pig installation on the farm This system will provide Casa Guatemala with biogas for
