Proposed Temporary RoadClosure–Station Rd/Biggleswade Rd, Potton
I have a request for aTemporary Road Closure at the above location to enable junction improvement works and crossing installations to take place. Details are listed in the schedule below and having assessed the application I am satisfied the request is justified.
The alternative route for this closure is as in the details below and will be signed accordingly. The restrictions are to be in operation only when the necessary signs are erected on site. The Legal Order will be made to cover a 12 month period. Access may be allowed from time to time according to local signing.

Road:Station Rd/Biggleswade Rd, Potton

Reason:The works on Station Road are for the installation of a pedestrian crossing
The works on Biggleswade Road are for installation of York stone paving and junction alterations
Length affected:Station Road, Potton closed from Biggleswade Road extending east to the junction with Willow Road
Biggleswade Road, Potton closed from Blackbird Street to The Ridgeway
Date:Station Road, Potton - The closure will take place from Saturday 7th January to Sunday 15thJanuary for 24hrs a day.
Biggleswade Road, Potton –Saturday 14th January to Sunday 22nd January for 24hrs a day.
Biggleswade Road closure will only take place on Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th January if the works on Station Road have been completed ahead of time.
BOTH ROADS WILL NOT BE CLOSED AT THE SAME TIME
Diversion:Proceed east on B1042 through Sandy to A1 roundabout, take first exit on A1 South and continue to Biggleswade South roundabout, take first exit onto A6001 London Road. Proceed to Dunton lane roundabout, take 3rd exit and continue to next roundabout, take 2nd exit and proceed onto Biggleswade eastern Relief Road. At the junction with B1040, turn right and continue to Potton to the junction with Station Road and vice versa.
NB. The applicant will be responsible for taking down all Central Bedfordshire Council public notices immediately after the works requiring the Order have been completed.
