Community Leaders Appointed as Officers of

Visiting Nurse Association–Community Services Board of Directors

Abington, PA – February 21, 2007 – Visiting Nurse Association-Community Services, a non-profit agency that provides health and human service to families in need throughout Montgomery County and surrounding communities, is pleased to announce the appointment of its new President and Vice President.

Harvey Portner, a Cheltenham Township commissioner, was named President of the Board of Directors. Portner is also a partner at the Professional Healthcare Institute in LaMott, board chairman of the Workforce Investment Board of Montgomery County, board vice chairman of the Workforce Investment Board of Pennsylvania and board member of AHEDD, a human resources organization for people with disabilities.

Larry Burns, of Horsham, a Vice President and Senior Commercial Lending Officer at Firstrust

Bank in Conshohocken, PA, has been named as Vice President of the Board of Directors. In addition

to his efforts with VNA, Mr. Burns is a board member of the Montgomery County Workforce Investment

Board, a board member of the Horsham Township Police Pension Advisory Board, and a Board

Member and Co-Chair of the Eastern Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce’s Economic and

Legislative Affairs Committee.

Thomas M. Hyndman, Jr. of Lafayette Hill, a retired partner with Duane, Morris & Heckscher

LLP and long-time Board Member and supporter of VNA-Community Services, Inc. has assumed the

role of Treasurer of the Board of Directors.

VNA provides services to match the needs of community members. In 2008, 5,200 individuals

benefited from the agency’s programs. Current core services include: In-Home Services, Primary

Health Care Services to Children and the Personal Navigator Program which connects individuals in

need with government and community benefits for which they are eligible but unable to apply.
