Regulations for the Senior Clerkship Students

Considering the language barrier between the students and patients, Zhejiang University, School of Medicine has decided to allow the option for all international MBBS students to complete their senior clerkship (internship, the same below) period in any country of the world, preferably their home country.

The main requirements for the senior clerkship students are as follows:

1.  The total time period of the clerkship will be _48_ weeks.

2.  If the student is accepted to execute his/her senior clerkship in the medical council recognized teaching hospital of any other country, then the hospital should inform Office of International Relations, Zhejiang University, through formal document.

3.  After completion of the required clerkship period, the teaching hospital is required to sign the “Practice Record Book” by authorized doctors and head of each department respectively. The Practice Record Book will be given to the students by Zhejiang University before starting clerkship.

4.  If the clerkship is interrupted in any other country, then student has to continue and complete rest of his/her clerkship at one of the Affiliated Hospitals of Zhejiang University as the continuity of the pending period.

5.  Students are required to come back to Zhejiang University before Jan 25, 2012__, to appear in the graduation examination.

6.  In case of incomplete clerkship duration or missing of any clerkship department required, the students shall not be able to appear in the graduation examination.

Departments Required & Duration

Compulsory（8 departments，40 weeks）

Note: 12 weeks internal medicine, including 3 weeks in cardiology and respiratory disease，2 weeks in GI, hematology, nephrology.

Electives（ departments，8 weeks）
