Informationabout the newsatellite andinstructions for readjusting the satellite dish
The signal from theEutelsat16Ais availablein all geographic locationswherethesignalfrom the satelliteHotBird13A can be received. The coveragemapisshown in Figure 1

Figure 1 –The coverage map for the satellite Eutelsat 16A

To receive the signalfrom the satelliteEutelsat16A, anantenna of at least 88cm indiameter is recommended. If you receive Croatian Radiotelevision satellite programmesviayour own antenna, which onlyreceives the HotBirdsatelliteandif theantenna is notbigger than120cm in diameter, the antennacan be readjusted simply by rotating it horizontally 3 degreesto the left, which corresponds to a shiftof3 degreesin orbitalposition of the satellite. This means thatifthe supportingstandattached tothe antenna is 40mm indiameter, it should be shiftedapproximately 1.5mmto the left, as seen from theback of thesatellite dish. It should be noted thatafter such anadjustment youwill no longerbe able to receive signalsfrom theHotBird satellite.

We do not recommend adjustingthe vertical axisbecause thedifferencein the requiredslope of theantennais very smalland the effecton thequality of receptionwith an antennaless than120cm in diameter is negligible. We also do not recommendadjustinglargerantennaswithout appropriatemeasuring instruments, because in their case far greaterprecisionandcorrectionsin theslope ofthe antennaon the verticalaxis are required.

If yourantenna receivestwoor more satellites, none of which isat position16 degrees East, it has to be upgraded with additionalLNB's and if necessary, further adjustments have to be made. We recommend that you get a professional to upgradeyour antenna. Figure 3showsnormal position of the LNBfor the receptionoftwo satellitepositions (Astra andHotBird), and Figure 4 shows theposition of theLNBon the antennaof88cmwhich receivessignals from satellitesin positions of13° E, 16° Eand19.2 °(note the narrowilluminator – a 23mm converter, which is locatedat position16E).

If you livein a buildingand use a sharedantenna systemto receive Croatian Radiotelevision programmesvia satellite, you should contact your tenant representative for possible upgrades toyoursatellite TVantenna system in order to receive the signal form the new satellite.

After adjusting theantenna according tothe given instructions, you need to run a signalsearchwiththese new parameters:
