Page 74 - MPC: Speeding: a VAS has been provided on Holyhead Road by SC Roads but NOT yet on Forton Bank.

5.2a.Speeding on Forton Bank: repaint existing 30 mph decals; an extra 30 mph roadside sign; new bolt-down pedestrian refuge at the junction with Holyhead Road; a new speed camera; a new VAS warning sign towards which MPC will make an unspecified financial contribution if SC completesthe sign before September 2018.

b.Speeding at Forton Heath near Mytton Turn: paint double white lines to deter overtaking, clear signage in both directions to show this is a school bus stop; make this area a 40 mph zone.

c.Road Flooding on the Forton to Nibs Heath Road: create new roadside soak-aways to reduce the volume of road surface water which in periods of heavy rain becomes a danger to pedestrians and passing vehicles.

d.Road Flooding at Montford Bridge Crossroads: an historic problem now worsened by new Yell Bank Site: install effective new roadside gullies to prevent road surface water flooding down into Severn House drive.

e.Road Flooding and Verge Erosion at Shrawardine Corner opposite The Lodge: install new high roadside kerbstones to prevent lorries and tractors from breaking soil into the roadway which then blocks roadside gully.

A) PROJECTS to be done by MPC itself using its own Precept and/or its Neighbourhood Fund:

1. ShrawardinePhone Kiosk with Automated External Defibrillator AED: cost = £1975 approx. ONGOING

B) CONCERNS for the attention of Shropshire Council (SC) with possibleMPC finance: *see also SoCC list ↑

1* Forton Bank Speeding: pedestrian refuge; speed camera;additional 30 mph sign; Vehicle Activated Sign (VAS)

MPC has made SC a firm offer of £1500 towards a Forton Bank VAS providing it is installed before Sept 2018.

2* Forton Heath Traffic Calming: install double white lines; school bus stop signs; make this area a 40 mph zone.

3* Forton to Nibs Heath Road Surface Flooding: create new roadside soak-aways to reduce volume of road water.

4* Montford Bridge Crossroads Road Flooding: install effective new roadside gullies to reduce surface flooding.

5* Shrawardine Corner Road Flooding+Verge Erosion:install new kerbstones: 30 metres costing£2,500 approx.

6. Little Ensdon Lane "Unsuitable for HGV"signs: for both ends of the lane but allowing local lorries to pass.

7. Adcote Triangle "No Fly Tipping"sign: on the grassy triangle at Ensdon junction with Forton-Adcote Road.

8. Holyhead Road and Forton Bank Nameplates: cost of free standing signs = £165 each not including fitting.

9. Broadband Provision: provide superfast fibre connection for Shrawardine and Ensdon and other outlying areas.

10. A New Montford Church Car Park: needs providing on the wide grass verge on the approach to the Church.

C) GRANTS TO PARISH ORGANISATIONS Montford Parish Churches, Millennium Green and Parish Hall.

Any parish infrastructure can be provided, improved, replaced, operated or maintained by Neighbourhood Fund (NF).

NF grant applications need a business plan with costings and the name, position and contact details of the applicant.

1. Parish Churchyards - the customary annual MPC grants to the PCCs may be made from the Neighbourhood Fund.

2. Montford Church Clock - needs electrifying: Montford PCC is aware of NF grants.

3. Shrawardine Church Roof - needsrepairing: Shrawardine PCC is aware of NF grants.

4. Develop Montford Millennium Green - new shed, fencing, tools, machinery: Trustees are aware of NF grants.

5. Improve and Maintain the Castle Mound - a £500 NF grant from MPC has been awarded towards this project.

6. ImproveMontford Parish Hall - the Hall Roof needs repairing: the Hall Committee is aware of NF grants.
