Monday---Unit 10 Lesson 2: Skill:-ng
Class will review Unit 10 Lesson 1 Skills: -nk and sight word what by rereading worksheets 10-7, 10-13, and 10-15.
Teacher will display slide picture transparency pg. 10-19 under document camera and ask students what letter combination is at the end of the slide? –ng
In today’s lesson we will slide the vowel –a into –ng. Using a marker, place an –a at the top of the slide. Slide the sound /a/ down the slide gliding the vowel sound into /ng/ saying /ang/ at the bottom of the slide. Place a with –ng at the bottom of the slide.
Students skywrite –ang saying “dash,a,n,g /ang/.”
Teacher will display worksheet 10-25 under the document camera and students will practice reading sentences and underlining /ng/ words. This worksheet will be sent home for reading homework.
Teacher will also display the Bonnie Kline story “What” (3 pages) under the document camera and practice reading. This story will also be for reading homework. Students already have this story in their reading packets.
Tuesday---Unit 10 Lesson 2: Skill: -ng

Class will also review /-ang/ from yesterday by: teacher will display slide picture transparency pg. 10-19 under document camera and place an –a at the top of the slide. Slide the sound /a/ down the slide gliding the vowel sound into /ng/ saying /ang/ at the bottom of the slide. Place –a with –ng at the bottom of the slide. Students will also skywrite –ang saying “dash,a,n,g /ang/.”
Class will choral and popcorn read the story, “What” and complete a short comprehension quiz over the story.

Formative: Students will be given worksheet 10-27 and will read given sentences and fill in the missing teacher dictated –ing word. Students will use the finger spelling technique before writing each word.
Teacher will display the Bonnie Kline story, “The Rock King Gang” and students will practice reading story. This story will be for reading homework. Students already have the story packet.
