Bid Package 5C – Structural Steel –
Erect Only
The successful Subcontractor acknowledges and agrees to the requirements set forth by this bid package and its descriptions and in conjunction with all other Construction Documents, as required to provide, furnish, install, and/or maintain all items necessary for a complete scope of work as listed below. The scope of work shall be inclusive of, but not limited to the following specifications, information, and requirements:
I) Specifications
a) Division 0 Bid Requirements
b) Division 1 General Requirements
c) 051200 Structural Steel Framing
d) 053100 Steel Decking
The successful Subcontractor is responsible for all specification Divisions and Sections included within the Construction Documents as required to provide a complete scope of work for this project. The individual Divisions and Sections listed above are provided as a courtesy only.
II) Erect Only Scope Specific Items:
1) Coordination with Fabricator and sequencing of deliveries.
2) Receiving, unloading and shaking out all deliveries from Fabricator.
3) Immediate notification to Skanska and Fabricator of discrepancies with deliveries or fabrication errors.
4) Structural steel, tube steel, steel joists, joist girders and bridging.
5) Roof screen framing.
6) Steel frames, supports and bracing for exterior windows/louvers/doors.
7) Canopy framing and decking.
8) Precast support framing.
9) Masonry support framing.
10) Elevator hoist beams and framing.
11) Metal decking for floor and roof.
12) Slab edge and roof opening closures and framing as required.
13) Coordination with Fabricator on Shop drawings as required to enable all parties to meet the project schedule.
14) Coordination with Fabricator for Engineers Certification of Connections as required.
15) Steel stairs, landings and railings. Metal pan, grate and checkered plate stairs. Monumental stairs not to be included - will be released in separate future bid package.
16) Wall-mounted stair rails will be installed by others.
17) Connections, fasteners, embedded items required for the installation of the work in this package. Embedded items in concrete will be delivered to concrete contractor for installation.
18) Shear studs/connectors.
19) Coordinate Fabricator’s anchor bolt templates with concrete contractor.
20) Touch up of shop primers/paint/coatings.
21) Grouting of base plates by others – BP 3A Concrete Work
22) Allowance of 20 tons of structural steel to be installed by this package.
23) Electrical distribution and consumption in excess of the temporary electric provided for the project as required for welders, hoists, etc.
24) Provisions for welding including smoke removal as required.
25) Furnish and Erect perimeter and opening barricades (two-line 1/2” wire rope/cable) and edge angle toe boards as required by the authority having jurisdiction for safety. Provide intermediate posts at a minimum of 10’ O.C. Provide turnbuckles for removable areas for staging materials as directed by Skanska. Include safety flagging at a minimum of 6’ O.C. Install barricades and edge angle toe boards immediately upon the creation of the opening or edge condition. Maintain barricades throughout the duration of this Bid Package and/or as directed by Skanska. Wooden toe boards will be installed and maintained by others upon completion of concrete slab fill.
26) Furnish and Erect safety netting and other required safety provisions.
27) Furnish and Erect temporary stair handrails and barricades as required.
28) Furnish and Install wood blocking in stair pans for temporary traffic prior to placement of concrete fill.
29) Provide all necessary roads, ramps, mats, pads, etc. as required for work under this package. Unless instructed otherwise by Skanska, restore areas affected to original condition upon completion of this work.
30) All hoisting, for this scope of work, shall be the responsibility of this Bid Package.
31) A hoisting plan will be required for approval by Skanska prior to mobilization.
32) Provide hoisting for other trades (during normal working hours) as required. This hoisting will be coordinated and scheduled with Bid Package 5C and Skanska.
