Development and fund-raising

Many people regard "development" and "fund raising" as synonymous. In truth, fund raising is but one component of the broader term, development.

The time spent cultivating or soliciting donors is fund raising; time spent aligning fund-raising goals with institutional planning and maturation is development.

In the broadest sense, development moves the institution forward. Fund raising simply brings such plans to fruition.

Development engages volunteers, board members, and stakeholders, giving them an avenue for involvement. They become advocates and ambassadors, sharing information and news. They might not actually solicit gifts, but what they do is most certainly development.

Zrimec and Wick, LLC is dedicated to partnering with non-profit leadership to share over twenty-two years of combined experience in development and fund-raising.
