1. Approval requested for approximately 60 students in the Extended School Year Program to visit Thunderbird Lanes in Warrington on June 26, 2016 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. This is a social activity intended to enable to practice appropriate behavior in the community. Approximate cost including transportation $500.00 (ACCESS)
D. Essential Training & Conferences
1. Michelle Lutz (ADMIN), Emily Howard (PS) and Faryle Waterman (District) to attend the National Autism Conference at the Penn State Conference Center Hotel, State College, PA, Aug 1-4, 2016, to learn about best practices in the education of students with autism. Cost $2,725.00 (IDEA)
2. Suzanne Bell (ADMIN) will attend the 2016 Alternative Education Conference: “Preparing Students for Lifelong Academic and Social Success” on August 2, 2016 and August 3, 2016 in Harrisburg, PA. The conference will offer research- based tools, strategies and resources to support the academic and social success of students in Alternative Educational Placements. Approximate cost: $200.00
E. Contracts & Agreements
1. Approval requested for agreement between Abington Speech Pathology Services and the District to provide therapy services on an as needed basis during ESY and the 2016/2017 school year.
2. Approval requested for agreement between Eric Pollock (EJP therapy services) and the District to provide physical therapy services to students, as specified in their IEPs, during ESY and the 2016/2017 school year at an hourly rate of $65.00, not to exceed $70,000.00 per annum. (1% increase)
3. Approval requested agreement between Pediatric Therapeutic Services and the District to provide Occupational Therapy services, and other related services as needed, to students with special needs during ESY and the 2016-2017 school year. Fee schedule ranging from $46.00 to $69.00 per hour. (< 1% increase)
4. Approval requested agreement between Austill’s Rehabilitation Services, Inc. and the District to provide Occupational Therapy services, to Upper Moreland students educated in alternative settings during the 2016-2017 school year, at an hourly rate of $62.52 (< 1% increase)
5. Approval requested for contract with Lakeside Educational Network to provide annual counseling services for a fee not to exceed $70,452.00, and alternative educational services for disruptive youth on an as-needed basis at a cost of $204.75 a day per special education student placement and $204.75 a day per regular education placement. (1% increase)
6. Approval requested for agreement with Approved Private School to provide educational services for the 2016-2017 academic year to student #901424.
7. Approval requested for contract with Buxmont Academy to provide educational services at Buxmont Academy at a cost of $124.65 per diem for general education students and a cost of $140.10 per day for special education students. (1% increase)
8. Approval requested for contract with Bucks Learning Academy to provide educational services at Bucks Learning Academy at a cost of $112.00 per diem. (1% increase)
9. Approval requested for agreement with Woods Services and the District to provide extended school year services, July 1, 2016 through August 31, 2016 to student #903444
10. Approval requested for contract with Dr. David Nover to provide Psychiatric evaluations and consultation meetings as needed for the 2016-2017 school year at the cost of $700.00 per evaluation and transportation fees not to exceed $125.00 per day. (no increase)
11. Approval requested for contract with Dr. Daniel Harmon to serve as the District’s dentist for an annual fee of $800.00, plus an additional fee of $2.50 per dental exam not to exceed four dental exams per hour for a total of $10.00 per hour. (no increase)
12. Approval requested for provision of District supported after school tutoring, 3 hours per week fromMarch 1through remainder of the 2015- 2016 school year, as advised by legal counsel, to student with special needs. Tutoring in research based reading program is being provided by a district employee.
13. Approval requested for agreement with Valley Forge Educational services to provide extended school year services to student #901580,July 5, 2016 to August 5, 2016at a cost of $7,700.
