Programme specifics, licence terms and technical requirements

EDYTOR – application for easy and fast extraction of graphical line of handwriting (also printed text, typewritten text, stamp impressions etc.) from the background (substrate) which contains the elements essential from the point of view of the analysis, such as: stamps, plots, additional notes, stains and other disturbing elements. EDYTOR application is tuned to the needs of handwriting analysis and allows much time-saving by replacing costly and hard-to-use graphic editors.

EDYTOR can be supplied via e-mail or regular post on CD or USB stick. The package contains two files:

  2. In Windows system, „.NET Framework” platform in v.2.0.50727 or more recent version should be installed. It is necessary for proper running of the programme.[1]
  3. Nearly 50 MB of free memory on hard disk is required.
  4. In order to view slide show (EDYTOR-instrukcja.pps) PowerPoint application (or PowerPoint Viewer) needs to be installed from Microsoft Office 2000 or more recent Office version.

Programme application and brief characteristics:

In expert practice, as a rule text specimens (signatures, initials) which are subject to handwriting analysis, hardly contain a “pure” graphical line on a clear, homogeneous background. Most often, questioned specimens bear unnecessary elements (such as stamps, additional notes, stains, etc.) which hinder the analysis or eliminate the sample from the analysis.

EDYTOR programme allows to prepare specimens for analysis by improving their legibility.

Final remarks:

Before starting work with the programme, it is recommended to become familiarised with User’s Manual in EDYTOR-instrukcja.pps file, where you can find detailed information on the operation of EDYTOR and the step-by-step procedure of examination of samples which is a must for each User.
