PROGRAMME MANAGER – Rainbow Family Programme

Purpose of the Post

To have overall management responsibility of Muslim Aid’s child related programmes with main focus being on the Rainbow Family child support programme. The job scope includes: people management, strategy formulation, budget management, assessment of programme development, implementation and evaluationin accordance with the strategy and business plans.

1. Main Responsibilities

  1. To implement the agreed global programme strategy and operational work plans to oversee the successful implementation of the Rainbow Family programme.
  1. To ensure the implementation of policies and procedures for programme implementations through the Rainbow Family Operational Manual.
  1. To design and prepare proposals for programme interventions using the Orphan General Fund (OGF) and seek sources of funding for new OGF projects.
  1. To develop the Rainbow Family Programme to ensure that Muslim Aid is up to date with child related developmental issues i.e. child protection and child welfare.
  1. To work with Head of Emergencies and Special Programmes to draw up the overall Rainbow Family Programme strategy and ensure cohesion between regional and organisational objectives.
  1. To manage all aspects of the Rainbow Family Programme, including technical support and supervision, and the development of effective monitoring, evaluation and reporting systems at HQ.
  1. To manage and develop the Rainbow Family team at HQ.
  1. To assist the Head of Emergencies and Special Programmes to ensure that the programme development operates within a sound financial management frameworkincluding budget preparation and monitoring.
  1. To assume budget responsibility for all active projects and ensure sound financial monitoring and accountability of projects and the sponsorship programme at field office and partner level.
  1. To work closely with the Fundraising Department to promote and raise income for the programme during campaign periods and throughout the year.
  1. To work closely with Communications Department and Information and Public Affairs Department to contribute to publications and articles for publishing.
  1. To develop annual work plans for the programme in accordance with the organisations strategic plans.
  1. To contribute to the risk management strategy and ensure that risks relating to the programme are managed effectively.
  1. To help in developing and drafting proposals for corporate donors and for institutionalfunding.
  1. To prepare regular reports on programme activities and general activities for Muslim Aid and programme donors and quarterly reports as agreed.
  1. To monitor standards and criteria for programme development in line with organisational plans and priorities.
  1. To work closely with IT department and lead to improve the IT infrastructure of the Rainbow Family Sponsorship Programme.
  1. Any other duties commensurate with the accountabilities of the post
