2.2. Fixed issues
2.2.1. Addition of function/ Change of specifications
1. Wired-Wireless (Primary) setting is added in Administrator settings.
2.2.2. The following issues are solved in this firmware.
1. For the Fax communication of CSRC, if the followings are requested to the MFP, it becomes an error and the information cannot be obtained.
- All commands
- Meter read
- Trouble counter
- User's choice
- ROM version
- Installed optional unit
2. If printed with a specific fill color pattern, an abnormal image occurs.
3. Functional restrictions
1. If the main switch is turned OFF and ON while saving the Fax job in User Box, the thumbnail is not displayed correctly for a moment.
2. The following characters can enter into Host name from the control panel.
- "." and "-"
3. On Mac10.2.8, printing cannot be performed with IPP.
This is due to Mac OS X. Please upgrade the OS version to 10.3.2 or later.

4. How to install
4.1. How to install program
Use USB memory to install. For the details, see the Service Manual.
Conditions for USB memory which can be used for updating the firmware are as follows:
- Securities such as data encryption and password lock shall be released, or the security function shall be turned Off.
- Memory with 1 GB to 2 GB are recommended (One with 4 GB or more may not operate)
- Compatible with USB Version 1.0/2.0 interface
- Formatted with FAT32 type
- A USB flash memory that appears as multiple drives on a computer cannot be used.
4.2. How to upgrade/downgrade firmware

[Caution]
If older than Gxx-C8 firmware is installed to MFP, Gxx-C8 or later cannot be installed by IISW.
Once Gxx-C8 or later firmware is installed by USB memory, Gxx-C8 or later can be installed by IISW.
Please set the following settings to default before downgrading.
- Shortcut Key for Server-less Ubiquitous Print setting
FW of the wireless LAN chip cannot be upgraded by IISW.
Please upgrade it by using a USB memory.
4.2.1. Upgrade
4.2.1-1. Firmware upgrading procedure from Function Version2 to Function Version2 MR4 (Maintenance Release4) Version.
1. If the Loadable Driver for Function Version2 has been already installed, delete it in Service Mode.
2. Install the Firmware for Function Version7 to MFP.
3. Turn OFF/ON the main switch.
4. Install Loadable Driver for Function Version7 to MFP.
4.2.1-2. Firmware upgrading procedure from Function Version2 to Function Version7.
1. If the Voice Data/Movie Data/Loadable Driver for Function Version2 has been already installed, delete it in Service Mode.
2. Install the Firmware for Function Version7 to MFP.
3. Turn OFF/ON the main switch.
4. Change Software Switch Setting to the following in Service Mode.

HEX Assignment: 60
5. Turn OFF/ON the main switch.
6. Install Movie Data for Function Version3, Loadable Driver and Voice Data for Function Version7 to MFP.
Please upgrade the printer drivers for Function Version6 if MFP is upgraded to the Firmware for Function Version7.
Because, the Device Information cannot be obtained and other problems may occur. And please also upgrade the Applications.
4.2.1-3. Firmware upgrading procedure from Function Version2 MR (Maintenance Release) Version to Function Version2 MR4 (Maintenance Release4) Version.
1. If the Loadable Driver for Function Version2 has been already installed, delete it in Service Mode.
2. Install the Firmware for Function Version7 to MFP.
3. Turn OFF/ON the main switch.
4. Install Loadable Driver for Function Version7 to MFP.
4.2.1-4. Firmware upgrading procedure from Function Version2 MR (Maintenance Release) Version to Function Version7.
1. If the Voice Data/Movie Data/Loadable Driver for Function Version2 has been already installed, delete it in Service Mode.

2. Install the Firmware for Function Version7 to MFP.
