NORTH CALDWELL SUMMER FUNCAMP 2009

Every year North Caldwell summer Fun program gets bigger and better, we plan on 2009 to be the best

yet. In person registration will be held on Saturdays March 21st from 9:00-12:00 pm and also Saturday

April 4th from 1:00-3:00 pm Summer Fun is held for 6 weeks beginning Monday June 29th through Friday

August 7th from 8:30 am to 1:30 pm; Monday through Friday with the exception of July 3rd. Our camp is

set up into two groups which include Upper and Lower Camp. Lower Camp is for boys and girls entering

kindergarten through second grade as of September 2009. Upper Camp is for tweens entering third

through seventh as of September 2009.

Our certified instructors are teachers by trade and present camp in a fun, enthusiastic and educational

way. Lower Camp classes include Swim lessons, arts and crafts where creativity and sharing ideas with

unique projects; Story time, talent show, sports and games. Upper camp classes include cooking, arts

and crafts, sports and games, water sports, pot luck, talent show, girls just wanna have fun.

Both camps have a field trip to the Bronx Zoo, Safety Day which includes a visit from the Sheriff’s office

with K-9 dogs, medic vac helicopter, a welcomed squirt down by NCFD, and fingerprinting by the NCPD,

end of the year barbeque, carnival day, talent show, pizza day and many other themed days in which the

curriculum matches the theme for arts and crafts, science and the other classes held daily.

Performances are brought into camp funded through the Municipal Alliance and deal with character

education such as anti bullying. Explore Science visits 3 times to intrigue the campers with brain teasers

and group building projects and experiments. Each camp has a separate pool day in addition to the

lessons and water games and during the heat waves extra pool days.

Lower Camp meets by the pavilion and tennis court area adjacent to Liberty field and rainy days are held

at Firemen’s community Center, all upper campers meet at Gould school rain or shine.

The cost of the 6 week camp is $299.00 which includes a Summer Fun t-shirt. If you cannot make the in

person registrations, you may register at the Recreation office beginning Monday April 20th

Monday through Friday 8:30-4:30 pm . After May 7th a late fee of $30.00 will be assessed to the

program fee and your child may not be guaranteed a spot in camp.

Mark your calendar for a Camper/Counselor/Parents Orientation meeting to be held at the pool on

Monday June 15 from 6:30-7:45 pm with a rain date of June 16th. If you have further questions call the
