SUGGESTED SPECIFICATIONS – MODEL VLG

NO. 2 OIL& NATURAL GAS BURNERS

Furnish and install C-B ProFire gas-oil burner(s), Model VLG . The complete burner shall be listed with Underwriters Laboratories, Inc., bear the UL label and shall be completely assembled, wired and factory tested. (Option: The burner shall meet the requirements of CSD-1, GE GAP, and F.M., or other regulatory bodies). Each burner shall be a high pressure atomizing type capable at a maximum firing rate of U.S. G.P.H., or C.F.H. of B.T.U. per cu. ft. gas at a pressure of (P.S.I.) (in. W.C.) at the inlet to the gas control train, with a minimum turndown ratio of to . Fuel changeover shall be accomplished with a gas/oil selector switch without any mechanical changes required with switching from one fuel to the other.

The burner shall be a forced draft type capable of firing against a furnace pressure from a negative .05 to a positive in. W.C. without a reduction in capacity or efficiency. The blower motor is to be h.p., 3450 r.p.m., volts, phase, hertz, directly driving a blower to supply all air for combustion.

The burner mounted control panel shall include an electronic combustion flame safeguard programmer model or, for ultra-violet flame supervision, relays or motor starter(s), ignition transformer, operating switches, signal lights (power on, main fuel, ignition, flame failure), and color-coded wiring. The control circuit shall be 120 volt, 60 hertz, single phase, supplied by a separate circuit or an adequate control circuit transformer.

The combustion control system shall incorporate on/off as standard for models VLG-13 to 25, low/high/off modulation as standard for models VLG-30 to 63, and full electrical modulation with 135 ohm potentiometer as standard for models VLG-70 to 168. For on/off configuration, the air damper shall be in a fixed position. For low/high modulation, a two position modulation motor coupled to linkage shall drive the air damper and fuel metering device. For full modulation, a modulation motor shall drive jackshafts and linkage to operate the air damper and fuel metering device. The air damper assembly shall have two separate damper blades. Models VLG-13 to 25 are optional as low/high/off, low/high/low, or full modulation. Models VLG-30 to 63 are optional as low/high/low or full modulation.

The gas train(s) shall conform to UL (Option: GE GAP, F.M., or other regulatory bodies) specifications and shall include all necessary safety shutoff valve(s), manual shutoff valve(s), high and low gas pressure switches, pressure regulator, vent valve and pressure gauge.

The pressure atomizing oil system for standard on/off, low/high/off, and low/high/low firing sequence shall include simplex nozzle, solenoid valves, and oil pump. The pressure atomizing oil system for full modulation firing sequence shall include a simplex nozzle for VLG-13 to 55. (A remote oil pump shall be separately driven by a h.p. motor for models VLG-60 to 168). The oil pump shall be capable of developing 300 psi discharge and 15” hg vacuum.

Ignition shall be of the interrupted gas-electric type. A pilot shutoff cock, gas pressure regulator, automatic pilot gas valve and ignition transformer shall be provided for each burner. Pilot assembly shall be mounted on its own drawer assembly removable from the external side of the burner. A flame supervision port shall be included.
