Paula Dalton

Paula is the Team Leader for the Property and Development team and has worked in Local Government for over 25 years. Paulahas been the project lead on a large town centre redevelopment and is currently leading on a complexinfrastructure projectwhere she is working collaboratively with her in-house client to deliver an outcome financed by Central Government.

Experience

Paula has had various roles over the years. She started in a junior post in Conveyancing and then moved into Environmental Services - dealing with planning injunctions, inquiries and planning and highway agreements. Investment in large pension fund properties enticed Paula back to commercial conveyancing and since then Staffordshire Legal Services has become more diverse and her role has become a more managerial and supervisory one. Paula’s current team comprises over 17 people all with varying backgrounds, both local authority and private practice. Paula supervises staff and recruits new members in an ever changing landscape, ensuring that they adapt and emerge in a way which reflects the way that services are now delivered.

Current role

Paula has learnt that looking forward and outwards is key to ensuring that she keeps up with the political and financial changes that impact on us and what we deliver. Paula constantly needs to adapt to new circumstances, whilst delivering key constants, like Lexcel. Paula has developed new talents such as shaping and guiding on large projects and bringing in external experts e.g. on procurement and Compulsory Purchase Orders. Paula has developed skills in negotiation and influencing people to achieve key aims and planning and co-ordinating large transactions to deliver in a timely fashion.
