Specific Role Purpose:
Key Responsibilities: /
  • Understand and comply with the National Intelligence Model (NIM), Management of Police Information (MOPI), Data Quality principles, Data Protection and the Intelligence Service policies and procedures.
  • Receive and co-ordinate intelligence logs in line with the above policies and procedures.
  • Proactively and reactively identify hotspots and crime series.
  • Identify intelligence gaps and make recommendations for directed intelligence gathering activities.
  • Prepare Intelligence products as directed by the Intelligence Supervisor.
  • Encourage the submission of intelligence/information and actively contribute to the continuous development of the intelligence function.
  • Manage the CORVUS briefing system ensuring all entries are completed in accordance with the National Briefing Model and Intelligence processes.
  • Provide critical incident intelligence support as directed by the Intelligence Supervisor.
  • Complete RIPA Authorities as directed by the Intelligence Supervisor.
  • Contribute to the preparation of Strategic Assessments.
  • Contribute to the preparation of Tactical Assessments.
  • Provide intelligence submission to DMM as directed by the Intelligence Supervisor.
  • To maintain computerised and manual records, updating intelligence systems and other similar equipment in accordance with Force Policy and Data Protection legislation.
  • Take appropriate security precautions in respect of intelligence handling and dissemination.
  • Provide advice and guidance on the use of Intelligence systems as required.
  • Work towards and support the Intelligence Professionalisation programme. Gain accreditation by completing the national occupational standards (NOS) for the role and inclusion on the National Intelligence Register.
  • Provide resilience to other areas of business within the team as directed.
  • Undertake any other duties commensurate with the role.

Hours of Work and Flexibility: / The core hours of this role will be on an agreed shift pattern. Working outside of these hours may be required. There is a requirement to work flexibly at all times with due regard to prevailing workloads and priorities. There may be a requirement at times to travel to other locations within the Force area.
