Profile of CIO / Head of IT:

The Position:

Will be responsible for evolving a suitable IT Strategy in line with Company’s business requirements. Should be able to articulate and deploy innovative and suitable application solutions supported by IT tools & Infrastructure,for the IT strategy deployment with concrete implementationtimelines to derive competitive business benefits.

The key success factor for this position would be that he is a proven leader with track record, self-driven for results, and have effective communication capabilities to build excellent rapport with various business heads to secure their cooperation & buy-in; and thus make them key contributors in the IT deployment journey.

Role:

  1. Understand the business needs and IT support needs and evolve deployment road map.
  2. Ensure buy-in from Business heads / internal stakeholders and Top management by providing visibility of business valueout of such IT deployment.
  3. Obtain IT budget for a phased-spend, over time.
  4. Develop, with the support of Business Leaders and Top Management, Enterprise Performance Metrics and information dashboard for various business hierarchies. For this present user discomforts have to be identified addressed effectively, to secure buy-in.
  5. Evolve deployment strategy that shouldintegrate with present IT deployment already in place, with new deploymentsto ensure smooth transition without business disruption.
  6. Examine and deployscalable & flexible IT infrastructure to support IT applicationskeeping the increasing business needs over time periods.
  7. Where required, initiate re-engineering Business Processes to align overall strategy framework and to eliminate redundant manual efforts and improve performance.
  8. Innovative use of emerging Technology in the areas of manufacturing and retailing can be a huge competitive advantage. Retailing involves a strong presence in social media and mobile technologies. For this establish relationship with technology vendors on a continuous basis and network with Industry colleagues.
  9. Plan data security, disaster Recovery management, periodic IT Risk analysis and implement risk mitigation plans, to ensure business continuity and Information security management.
  10. Be a leader and coach to motivate the IT team for effective performance and establish talent developmentfor sustained IT support (In-house as well as outsourced support, as required).

Ideal candidate:

  1. Preferably an Engineering graduate with IT specialization / with experience in consumer durables, or FMCG, or Auto and Auto Ancillary with exposure to retail distribution.
  2. 8 to 12years of experience in IT deployment, should be a core ERP solution architect with hands-on implementation experience of SAP with at least 4 to 6 years of project management experience, in mid sized production unit. Must have skills to provide integrated management Information System to focus on business values.
  3. Knowledge of IT infrastructure and applications management including selection, deployment and integration of IT Systems / tools; and interfacing ERP with appropriate communication technologies for mobile computing using Andriod, iOS based devises by field staff, interfacing SAP with hand held devices like bar codes, RFIDs and such emerging technologies, deployment of cloud computing, where relevant, would be key expectations.
  4. ERP/solutions architect and must be aware of IOS/Android technology.
  5. Must have knowledge on various frame work options including open source.
  6. Must be capable of doing code reviews and test methodologies/testing tools to stress test the solution
  7. Hands on experience is must without which we can't be achieve the goal
