Jonathan Griffiths 教授

Jonathan Griffiths is Professor of Intellectual Property Law at Queen Mary University of London, PhD supervisor and Deputy Dean of Law. He has degrees in English Literature and History and qualified as a solicitor before taking up positions at Nottingham Law School and Queen Mary. His main research interests are in copyright and in the relationship between intellectual property law and fundamental rights and he has written widely in both of these areas.

He is the editor of the “United Kingdom” chapter of the leading international treatise on "International Copyright Law & Practice" (edBently) and is a member of the editorial/advisory boards of the Journal of Media Law, the Media & Arts Law Review and the Nottingham Law Journal. Recently, he has given visiting lectures at the University of Oxford, University of Sheffield, Strasbourg (CEIPI), at City University London and at Meiji and Waseda Universities in Tokyo.

He is interested in copyright policy and reform and has been consulted on copyright policy by a number of public bodies including the UK IPO, SABIP, the European Commission, the Dutch Ministry of Justice and the Japanese Cabinet Secretariat. He is a member of the European Copyright Society, a group of scholars founded in 2012, with the aim of creating a platform for critical and independent scholarly thinking on European copyright law. The Society has published several widely-read policy proposals. See, for example, the Opinions on the Deckmyn judgment and on the reference to the CJEU in Svensson.

Professor John Hull

John Hull 教授

Professor John Hull is a Visiting Professorial Fellow at Queen Mary Intellectual Property Research Institute. John is also a Consultant in the IP and Commercial Team in Farrer & Co. He has over 30 years experience of IP and IT —both contentious and non-contentious.

He is also an acknowledged expert in aspects of public law, particularly relating to universities, research based organisations, medical institutions and charities.

Recent examples of John's work are: Advising a university on the application of European Directives to its profession-based courses; Advising a medical college on the patentability of a model for trauma-based teaching; Representing a client in the Patents County Court on a case involving copyright ownership of film footage; A high court trade mark infringement action for a client in the property sector; Representing an NHS Trust in a Freedom Information Act case in the Information Tribunal; Acting for a university in defending an action on the applicability of regulations relating to postgraduate medical training; Drafting a suite of agreements giving web-based access to psychometric testing tools.

John has been published in the “Research Handbook on Intellectual Property Licensing” in January 2013 writing Chapter 7 “The licensing of trade secrets and know-how.’

Dr Noam Shemtov

Noam Shemtov 副教授

Dr Noam Shemtov joined CCLS in September 2009 as a lecturer in Intellectual Property and technology Law. He is currently a senior lecturer in IP and Technology Law. He lectures in areas of intellectual

property, creative industries and technology and his research interests are also focused in these fields. His book ‘Beyond the Code - Protection of Non-Textual Features of Software’, is due in

August 2017 with Oxford University Press and is expected to focus on the most contentious and problematic aspect of IP Protection for software products: non-literal copying.

Noam has led research projects and studies funded by UK Research Councils and by industry, supranational and commercial organizations, such as CreativeWorks London, CISAC, Microsoft and WIPO. He is currently conducting a study for WIPO on the interplay between the mobile application industry and its intellectual property ecosystem.

Noam also holds visiting appointments by Spanish and Dutch universities, where he lectures regularly in areas pertaining to intellectual property, creative industries and technology. He is CCLS Director for Graduate Studies and a Co-Director of Queen Mary Intellectual Property Research Institute. Noam is a qualified solicitor both in the UK and in Israel.

Dr Antigoni Lykotrafiti is Lecturer in Transport, Energy and the Law at the Centre for Commercial Law Studies at Queen Mary University of London. Prior to joining Queen Mary, Antigoni worked for theOrganisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) on transport policy issues. She has been an assistant professor at Tilburg University in the Netherlands (Tilburg Law and Economics Centre), a Jean Monnet post-doctoral fellow at the European University Institute, a practitioner within a leading law firm and a stagiaire at the European Commission. Dr Lykotrafiti read law at the University of Athens (LL.B.), European law at the University of Essex (LL.M.) and air transport law at King’s College London (PhD). She specialises in European andInternational law, law and economics and law and innovation as applied especially to the sectors of air transport and energy. She is fluent in Greek (mother tongue), English, Italian and French.

Dr. Guan H. Tang

Dr Guan H. Tang is Senior Lecturer in Commercial Law Asia and PhD supervisor at CCLS. She was Senior Lecturer in Law at Northumbria University, July - December 2015, teaching and supervising in intellectual property (IP) law; Associate Professorof Law at Shanghai University of Finance and Economics in September 2009 - June 2015, researching, supervising and teaching in the field of Chinese civil and commercial law, including IP, Internet Law and contracts.

Guan's academic journey started when she was awarded a governmental scholarship in 1998, undertaking her Masters at Queen's University Belfast, where she researched information technology and the law with a focus on IPRs in China. She later read law with Professor Hector MacQueen and received her PhD at the University of Edinburgh Law School. Benefiting from a dual academic experience, Guan appreciates the legislative and cultural diversity, and sits on several advisory boards for a number of organisations in China and Europe. Guan’s research consists of a strong theme of comparative IP law and the public interest, with an insight about the developments of the rule of law from a commercial law perspective and their relevance to the rest of the world. She welcomes proposals for PhD research, particularly in the field of comparative commercial law.

她的学术之旅始于 1998 年,她获得了政府奖学金并前往贝尔法斯特女王大学攻读硕士学位。期间,她研读信息科技与法律,开展了中国知识产权保护相关课题的研究。之后,她师从 Hector MacQueen 教授,在爱丁堡大学法学院攻读并获得了博士学位。得益于中英结合的学术背景,她对立法和文化的多样性有着深刻的理解,是中国和欧洲数家组织咨询委员会成员。她专长于比较知识产权法和公众利益的研究,关注中国商法领域的法治发展与国际社会的相关性。她目前正招收比较商法方向的博士研究生。
