Finding a Balance: Regulation and Bulk Power System Performance– 9:20am
Dr. Jessica Bian provides a broad view on energy market regulation in the US, including a rulemaking process and landmark orders. It addition, it explores how improving bulk power system performance through technology, data, and policies will benefit the customers of electric power. Dr. Bian is currently with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) in Washington, DC.Prior to FERC, she was the Director of Performance Analysis at the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC).

Board Update and Ethics – 10:40am
Mr. Clark will be speaking on behalf of the Texas Board of Professional Engineering. Mr. Clark is Director of the Compliance & Enforcement Division for the board where he manages the day-to-day operations of the division to include policy advisory opinions, compliance reviews of continuing education audits, seal imprint approvals, investigations of enforcement cases against violators, and providing outreach programs to educate the public and licensed engineers on engineering matters pertaining to the Board and the Engineering Practice Act.

Maximizing Reliability for Power Systems through Material Selection (Coatings)– 1:00pm

Mr.Robert Cameron comes to us from PPG’s Protective and Marine Coatingsdivision. He will be delivering a presentation from the perspective of material selection, installation procedures, and best practices in maintenance.This presentation highlights the details of materials used for corrosion protection, as it pertains to critical equipment and infrastructure in power. With aging assets and infrastructure, maintenance is at times the most critical of concerns for reliability engineers in the power industry. Solutions for asset integrity and corrosion control become immediate in their urgency. Similarly, for new projects these concerns can be delineated based on the expected life-cycle of the projects at hand.

Building Inspections– 2:20pm

Kevin Robinson, the Assistant Building Official with the City of Amarillo Building Safety Department, will be discussing items the Building Inspection teams look for on project sites for code compliance and occupancy.

What’s New in Tech. – 3:40pm

We will welcome back Mr.Eric Spellmann to enlighten us on what is new and best in the world of Technology.Eric Spellmann is the Owner and President of Spellmann & Associates, a technology company offering online marketing, social media management, and website design.

There will be 1 hour of ethics education

Seminar will begin at 9:15am with Late Registration Opening at 8:45am

Lunch will be served beginning at 11:50am and is included in the fee for the Seminar.
