Job purpose
Data Pitch is a €7M EU project which will seek to address the critical gap of growth in Europe’s data economy by creating a transnational, Europe-wide data innovation ecosystem that will bring together data owners and Big Data technology providers, with start-ups and SMEs with fresh ideas for data-driven products and services.
Qrowd is a €3M EU project which addresses the challenges of limited integration of Big Data by offering methods to perform cross-sectoral streaming Big Data integration including geographic, transport, meteorological, cross domain and news data, while capitalizing on human feedback channels.
The postholder will work with the PI, project consortium, project management boards and Project Officers at the European Commission (EC) and is responsible for the planning, coordination, implementation, execution, and project management of these two EU projects.
Key accountabilities/primary responsibilities / % Time /
1. / To be responsible for the day to day delivery and coordination of Data Pitch and Qrowd as agreed with the PI, the project consortiums, project management boards and European Commission. / 25 %
2. / Manage the implementation of the operational requirements of the projects which includes the development and regular update of the project plans in liaison with the consortium to track progress against milestones, agree necessary actions and monitor implementation to avoid slippage against timeframe. / 25 %
3. / To monitor DataPitch and Qrowd budgets and financial processes within EC and University regulations, to provide advice on resource planning and to ensure that the budgets and resources are effectively and appropriately managed. / 5 %
4. / To produce management information, reports, briefings as required to inform and update the PI, consortium and EC. / 20 %
5. / To plan, organize and attend events, workshops, conferences and project meetings, both nationally and internationally. / 10 %
6. / To carry out detailed assessment and analysis of issues and problems, using specialist knowledge to identify and recommend appropriate solutions. / 10 %
7. / Any other duties that fall within the scope of the post, as allocated by the PI, following consultation with the post holder. / 5 %

Special Requirements /
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as is the use and maintenance of confidentiality at all times.
· There will be some travel involved both within the United Kingdom and abroad to organise and attend meetings and conferences with stakeholders.
