About Me:

My introduction to music came at age six when I began learning to play keyboard in 1983. I started playing drums at age nine, and picked up bass guitar at age fourteen. Since then, I have played and performed in many orchestras, concert bands, jazz ensembles and rock groups through the years with guidance along the way from David Jones, David Vine, Vince Genova and John Morrison. My first rock band, Blue Steel, gained local recognition and media coverage after success in a number of band competitions. During my time with the local brass band, I gained first place in the national brass band championships in Newcastle. I have also been teaching drums and percussion on the SunshineCoast since 1994, privately and in local schools.
Currently I am working as a freelance drummer and percussionist, recording and performing on a regular basis. I also compose and arrange my own music andI operate as a drum repair technician and music consultant. I also teach nearly fifty students every week on the SunshineCoast in various schools and in my private studio. I attend Kings Christian Church, and I play for their church services and public events. I am currently being instructed and mentored by Grant Collins, an international drumming identity.

I am endorsed by Trueline drumsticks.

Current Bands/Projects/Recordings:

Tamara Davis

I started working with Tamara earlier this year. She had recorded a 5-song EP, and the first song, “Rock Chik” had been receiving regular airplay on 96.5 for a few months. She had been asked to perform at the Australian Gospel Music Festival this year and needed a band to do so. I accepted the drum chair for this gig, and decided to keep working with Tamara after this gig. I’m currently recording the drum tracks for her debut album, which is due out later this year. There are also some more gigs coming up in the near future.

SistaMusic

Sista are an ‘alternative strings’ duo, who specialize in weddings and corporate functions. They play a blend of classical, avant-garde, jazz standards and contemporary popular music. My role within the group is to provide percussion parts, usually in the form of djembe, congas or light drum kit parts. I started working with Sista in January of 2006, and have been performing with them regularly ever since.

Jennifer Hockey

Jen plays a sort of alternative acoustic rock style with thought provoking lyrics. I recorded the drums for her debut CD “Face The Music” which is due to be released on the 11th of November. More info and some samples at

Black Holz

This is a rock/blues outfit run by Malcolm Holz. I recorded the drums for his new CD “Southern Collaborations”, due to be released in the next few months. The CD also features bass player/engineer Lenny Slaughter and guitarists Kevin Borich and Paul Clement perform on this album as well.
